Friday 31 July....

I retired after 37 total years in the Coast Guard.

I did 25 Active Duty; then was rehired immediately as
a Search and Rescue Specialist as a GS-11, which I did for 12 years.

Over the 37 years, 26 were engaged in Search and Rescue and Maritime
Law Enforcement; 6 years were in Water Safety, Swimming and Personal Fitness Training
for Recruits and Officer Candidates. The other 5 were in Security
and Law Enforcement shoreside.

It is a bittersweet parting.

I was one of the best there was,
but the time is right.

Over those years...about 18,000 cases..
I lost count and never kept a tally sheet.

My son is going for his doctorate
in Physical Therapy.
