Why, O' Why Cry Out?

Like a blind fool, my life is in such tatters
Why cry out? Would it help such sad matters?
Friends declare their sweet sorrow for me
Am I not still a healthy, spreading bold tree?

My roots run deep and in a most fertile soil
for love and life I heartily sweat and toil
What more of me? Does another think my chore
I too, hold my heart- out, wanting much more!

No longer do I pray to a vanished, broken God
father loved me but never, never spared the rod!
Solitude in old, deep forests I so dearly seek
wisdom into Heaven- just a wee, wee little peek.

Can life give me more to hold most blessedly dear?
Greater heart to love, greater courage not to fear!

Pull Your Blade From My Bleeding Back

Pull your blade from my bleeding back
the cut can thus bleed all the more
Your deceit so deep I've lost all track
your love is, crap water on a dirty shore!

Stand back and watch me hurt and bleed
can you destroy my lost life any deeper
Such sickness feeds your twisted need
I the fool, thought you great and a keeper!

Pull your blade from my bleeding back
the cut can thus bleed all the more
Your deceit so deep I've lost all track
your love is, crap water on a dirty shore!

Recover I shall, from your vicious deeds
hope now invades my sick, bleeding heart
Someday you'll cry and send me lying pleads
such will be your lies so dead from the start!

Pull your blade from my bleeding back
the cut can thus bleed all the more
Your deceit so deep I've lost all track
your love is, crap water on a dirty shore!

Life returned my mind to think this out
pain gone, sanity gives to me this thought
Expose your evil with a just and high shout
on the hatred your selfishness dearly bought!

Pull your blade from my bleeding back
the cut can not bleed at all any more
I survived to live and love to now track
sweet justice now invading your sad shore!

I thought it good to show the difference in writing and optimism from my much earlier poetry and
what I tend towards writing now.

Many poems presented here are indeed contest entries , written to a theme not of my own choosing--always a much harder task for a poet to write on demand and to a theme they may not care for and in a form they do not like and sometimes had just studied to be able to write the entry.

Yet I did quite well but truly did not enjoy the task! A few times enjoyed the task, the theme and when that was the case I always got first or second place.

Poetry is not only an exercise of the heart but also of the brain/mind as well.
Truth is, I have always rebelled at being commanded or forced to do something.
That rebellious inner spirit rests comfortably and firmly within my soul. Very likely a genetic product
of my bloodline methinks. -Tyr
