That's not tragic. Tragedy is what you've allowed the UK to become. Tragedy is the EU and almost everything it stands for. Tragedy is the people of Europe being okay with fasist/socialist principles.

Sorry, but he's right Trump was definitively left-leaning until this year, when he suddenly starts spouting whatever insults he figures will win him republican votes. That he's even being considered a possibile candidate is evidence of just how desperate the Republicans are getting.

I agree, but it isn't just republicans that are getting desperate, as the country swirls around in the bowl, ready to be flushed I think most are getting desperate. Trump is spitting out insults and the American people are willing to listen and laugh with him, because he is blaming everyone for the state of our Country, he is running at a great time to just sling sheot and blame all for all that is wrong.

I would vote for him, just not for President. The GOP cannot afford to lose the Presidency. Furthermore, he has no record to run on. Talk is cheap.

Obama had no record to run on and the world media paraded him around like a rock star.

He was a community organizer who lost his law license and was an Illinois senator for a whole 3 years (most of which he spent running for president).

"Trump said that he’s “always felt that I was in the military” because he went to New York Military Academy, a military-themed boarding school. Trump’s parents sent him to the expensive preparatory school to correct poor behavior when he was younger. haven't made up my mind yet LTG. I'm still undecided. I know who i'm NOT voting for , Hillary, Biden Bernie, Bush or Trump .

seems you need to man up answer and my question though. Instead of BS name calling. be a man... or whatever ... answer the question.
what do you think about his comment?
seems you don't have it in you be completely honest about some of the stuff Trumps been saying or the positions he's taken that DON'T seem to align with what you or conservatives have promoted in the past.

And you treat Trump like a precious little girl that shouldn't be criticized, (while she's criticizing everyone else BTW) If someone says, look she's got a snotty nose and piss on her dress. and suggest She needs to clean up. You pretend it's not there and refuse to address it and want to find fault with other girls.

If Trump's such an AMERICAN Manly Man he can take honest criticism.
even if his supporters can't seem to bear it. Or come up with consistent or conservative reasons why they still support the guy.

I've been reading tons and tons and tons, on a daily basis, just as I do yearly. I make sure I know who I want before the primary voting really even begins. Rubio was number one for me and then Trump. Now it's Trump in the lead, then Cruz. I like their tough stances and take no shit attitudes. And while they are the leaders, they would both have a thousand other folks working behind the scenes, some with more common sense where some of the leaders lack.

I'm tired of the politically correct crap. And someone who can talk to both sides, and then absolutely nothing gets done (yes, I know we need that, but not an appeaser I mean). I'm tired of seeing our leaders kiss foreign asses. I'm tired of the status quo. NOTHING can be worse than letting Obama run rampant for 8 years. From what I see thus far, the only way we stay the same or get worse is if Hillary gets into office. Hell, I don't even think 25% of the Dems want that anymore.

But yes, out of all of the GOP candidates, they all offer something different as to what they want and how they plan to lead. From there we all have our own differences which will change our favorite candidates. I think we're all looking for similar, but some of our "favorites" as to what we're looking for makes us seek different candidates.

I went to high school with a guy that worked at a burger franchise after school. He was a pretty wacky guy that admitted to spitting on burgers during grilling on occasion when he was pissed. A couple of years later he went to and graduated from the Culinary Institute and worked in Fla. where he was notice by Trump who hired him as his personal chef at his estate for several years. For years after when hearing Trumps name, my first though was of Barry "the spitter" cooking for him.

For an official plan with specifics I would rely on his website; Silly me. I would expect that many here, and if you posted them it would be on me, that his supporters would be vociferously extolling his conservative plans and what-not that will have us on the right track.

It would be a waste of my time to debate any Trump issues if you refuse to do the smallest of searches (Google is your friend), and apparently haven't watched any campaign stops, interviews or appearances. I simply pointed out that you are extremely wrong when you say he has only one position, when getting his position on MANY issues is quite easy. There are even neat little sites that will put it all one place to make it easier for those wondering what the candidates stances are, even with cool links to their interviews and videos. :)

Alternatively, one can take a mere few seconds, go to Google and search the issue they may be interested in: like maybe "Donald Trump on ..." But if you have no desire to know what his stances are, then again, there's little point in anyone "telling" you what they are, or providing links and videos.

I just don't know what to think about him...

Look...if you want to support and/or vote for Trump, be my guest. But here's my theory. The left (including Hillary) is/was scared to death that the right would choose someone like Ted Cruz or Scott Walker as the GOP candidate (fat chance with the RINO traitors stumping for Bush) that would be highly popular among non-leftist voters. So what did they do? They got Donald Trump to run to distract voters AWAY from candidates like Walker, Cruz, etc. And it worked splendidly....since the left knows how easily distracted some on the right always are.

Now....show me one candidate on the right that has had overwhelming popularity that has resorted to petty squabbles with females....even females in politics, other than Donald Trump. And then, ironically, he gives lip service to Sarah Palin (another distraction) who, coincidentally, received the most vitriol from even GOPers in 2008. If you find one that has done the same thing Trump did, then tell me if that candidate ended up getting MORE support for that pettiness. I posit that you won't find one.

So the question is....with Trump....is he making the GOP look bad to the public? Of course. He's running AS a Republican. Is it intentional? I think it just might be.

Trump isn't my first choice (although not my last either). He has plenty of "i will just do it" answers and not a lot of specifics. He is selling us on himself, not his policies.

True. But for 'some' reason....I have become highly cynical and skeptical of any and all of these campaign promises. I consider them symbolism, not substance. I tend to go on candidates' past history of, if not political actions, their personal ones re: who and what they supported. And Trump does not pass that smell test with me.

That said....if forced to choose between a DemocRat....ANY DemocRat....and Trump...I would probably vote for him, depending upon who he chose as a running mate. He would have to choose someone conservative. And that does not include Ben Carson.

A tariff? On what, pray tell? How much do we actually import from Mexico...

Mexico's exports to America amounted to
$297 billion or 12.3% of its overall imports.
http://www.worldsrichestcountries.com/top_us_imports.html

I think we need to run away fast from any protectionist position. We need to be the party of freedom and that should include free trade IMO.

I know he said the party left him. But was that in jest?

I think the movement of the parties is fairly evident. I think even Gunny will say something similar.

I'm sure he has plenty of other statements of things he thinks. Thought out positions are a different manner but I'll debate any position that you post (it seems so many of them are buried in multiple Trump threads but as I said I'll take responsibility). I even debated in favor of his zero corporate tax position (if he still holds it) with Rev and I'll debate against his one-time wealth tax position (if he still holds it) if you like. Besides, I looked here:

http://www.ontheissues.org/Donald_Trump.htm

There are enough contradictory things there to wonder who the current Trump is. I'm only saying I don't understand the enthusiasm for him when others were tossed aside for similar reasons.

You mean....getting rid of state boundaries when it comes to healthcare only? That's a weird way to put it. An off-putting way, in fact. Question is, would Trump act to repeal Obamacare? Has he said he would? Don't think so. Trump is on record, in fact, of supporting the intended end result of the left fubaring our healthcare system in the first place...which is single-payer.

Yeah, and it would be so easy to do....since most of these insurance companies are national. So why haven't they already done it? Because the leftist DemocRats don't want anything passed that would be positive or productive that might hinder their efforts to get government-run(ruined) single-payer healthcare, like the VA for everyone (shudder). He's on record stating that Obamacare is a disaster and needs to be scrapped as well. He wanted it tossed out when it was in front of SCOTUS. Would he actually act to repeal? He said he would several times - but I don't think any of them will unless they have a strong congress on their side as well. It won't be fixed overnight with an EO.

At this point, yes, because SCOTUS has already had their say. At this point really all that can be done is massive overhauls, or a repeal via congress with a replacement perhaps. But I can't see anyone literally doing away with this, with a pen, and overnight. I think congress passed this crap and put it in there, congress will need to undo it.

All sarcasm aside...I would love to know how he plans to "force" Mexico to pay for the building of that border fence/wall. Seriously? I would also like to know what ""epiphany"" he had to have had, and what prompted it, that caused him to go from being for "Hillary for President" in 2010 to suddenly being a ""Republican"". Again....seriously? How stupid would we have to be to believe he could switch that easily from donating to Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Hillary and other rabidly leftist DemocRats.....to being the swell guy pretenda-conservative presidential candidate?

And more to the point....it begs the question....if he can switch that quickly and that easily....what makes anyone think that he couldn't or wouldn't 'switch back' if he won the presidency? No...we can't afford to take a chance on a candidate with this track record (liberal). It is far too crucial an election. We HAVE to get this right (pardon pun). And Trump ain't no conservative...which is the ONLY thing that will save us at this point....a conservative candidate (like Cruz, Walker, etc.).

You almost couldn't fail to have gotten a better deal. And if Trump is good at anything, it's negotiating beneficial deals. I find it funny that you questioned Trump's abilities in this area, of all things. You wouldn't by any chance be finding fault with everything the man does, would you? Or maybe it's just putting the poster on the defensive, asking them to defend or explain their position at a level of detail that might annoy them into retreating?

I have noticed that when someone does not like a candidate, they tend to claim he or she "doesn't give specifics", so cannot be taken seriously, or is obviously lying. And if that candidate is not a politician, they have no official record to look at.

I have been complaining right here about both debates for being gotcha sessions, with little attempt to bring out candidates' positions, let alone details. But we are looking at 11 candidates, and even in 3 hours, there is only so much detail that can be given before people fall asleep. I heard Fiorina say that she is not ready to discuss Social Security or Medicare yet, but haven't seen criticism of her for it. And so it goes.

I trust the process, in that as candidates are winnowed down, we will know much better who intends to do what. They can only speak in generalities for so long. And I am not on board for Trump. I just think it is too soon to write someone off for such a reason, with the election over a year away.

I only asked what a better deal looks like according to Trump. I'm sure he can negotiate deals but I do think he's more marketing than financial genius.

And I think you misunderstand I don't fault him for the lack of specifics necessarily but one position on his website? Come on; any intern can bang out a position piece for him. I have been asking why he has the support that he has when he comes late to conservatism and can be likened in that respect to McCain and Romney. Being anti-PC is not a qualification and neither is breaking out the claws against those who should be on the same side as he.

FWIW I trust the process as well. We have to trust the process because it's all we have.

I agree. I've been trying to keep remarks to news and noting only my opinions when appropriate. I've refrained from name calling. I respect that many others, the majority here have opinions on a candidate different from my own. Being in the minority regarding a candidate doesn't make one a democrat, liberal, or any other label.
