Even while they were still about, they'd pretty much departed the field for electrical supplies. It's sad, but that's progress, unfortunately.

So, I doubt it's a radioshack clock. Anything he builds, though, is likely to be rudimentary at that stage of the game, so it'll likely resemble the internals of various cheap clocks. Honestly, most circuits nowadays begin to look really alike.

We have a full fledged Radio Shack here in my town. I just don't shop there unless I'm truly desperate for a cable or similar, most of their stuff sucks. Perhaps this one will be converted like you say. I won't be sad. But they do have clocks too!! And batteries that last an hour. Headphones that last 3 days. Car chargers that die in 2 weeks. Yes, I hate that place. :)
