Looks like the rumors were true, there were enough votes to remove him as Speaker.

McConnell should be next.

Good. Time to get someone in the saddle that wants to fix things and he doesn't have the courage to do what needs to be done.

McConnell needs to go, too. He's had his chance, nothing but pussy-footing around has occurred along with backdoor deals. The clock is ticking and I'm tired of seeing them piss away the opportunity given them by the voters in the last election.

Wow, surprising, but not surprising. I love him in the beginning, but then he didn't get shit done, then he got weak, then he got friendly with the idiots and got even weaker. We need leaders in such positions.

He is proud of what this majority has accomplished

I'm curious as to what he is thinking of, as to what these are?

He's a champion white-flag waver every time Obama says he'll veto something. Definitely great at that.

(AP) — In a stunning move, House Speaker John Boehner informed Republicans that he would step down at the end of October.

Rep. John Mica said Friday that Boehner "just does not want to become the issue. Some people have tried to make him the issue both in Congress and outside."

Boehner took over the speakership in January 2011.

I had this ready to post , then saw your thread.-Tyr

They both sold us and this nation down the river. They both deserve to have true justice to catch up to them. I pray that it does myself and that its brutally deep..................... -Tyr

The bad news is....it's not immediate. It's not until the end of October. He should have been fired vs. being allowed to resign, IMO. The good news is....at least there IS some good news, such as it is. I should offer to help him pack.

Well obviously....in true Snake/Maverick McCainish fashion.....he's thinking how well and how many times he 'reached across the aisle to his Democratic friends in true bipartisanship spirit' ....while he sold out and down the river all of the righties and conservatives that voted for his stupid @ss and gave him majority rule and power in the first place. He and McConnell quite literally squandered the 2014 election results...and quite deliberately, I might add.

we need term limits to keep them working for US... not themselves

Ryan has also shown he is Washington establishment type. The hope is to get conservatives in key leadership and Chairman of key committees

I was quite happy to see that Boehner was resigning. I hope the GOP wage a vicious fight over his successor rather than just move up the second in charge.
Anything that causes friction and division within the Republican party is OK with me.

You have to remember that Obama is a lame duck president. He is not beholden to anyone at this point.
Boehner is now also a lame duck official. And he still has the power. And I am guessing that he will use it to full advantage.

It would...he fought Reid and Pelosi, two of the worst leaders in our history that
totally refused to reach across the aisle and work with the other side.

The House represents a more closer ratio to voters and representatives and
influence...but Liberals do not like that. CA Liberals suck!
Why do the Liberals fight this? Minority wins?

You ought to run, Young lady from Orange Country...see how far you

Tried to prevent shutdowns of the government for years just
to be blocked by Reid and Obama.

Yet the wimpy Liberals swear by them...

Pelosi is an idiot...got millions of dollars and not one dime of common sense.

Obama..a Community Organizer in Chicago...we see how great that Black
on Black crime rate worked...or Black on white.. Voted "Present" 87% of
his term in the State, if he showed...voted 93% "present" in the U.S. Senate!

Admirable leader you have Gabby!

Reid? Stupid...would not even try to work with McCain, who has a history of
trying to work both sides. He is so damn dumb and deluded that he is happy.

Kept funding obama's crap, had the power to not fund...
Power of the purse but did not use it. Historically , its often been used to great effect.
Obama's executive amnesty and health disaster crap both could have use the power to defund but instead kissed his ass and gave him all he demanded.
As they are likely to do on the abortion clinic harvesting of baby parts for sale..
No bullshit on my part.

Newt had balls. So did Lott. The leftwing MSM went after them with BS and the McConnell's and Boehner's made them step down. Simple tactic. The left has taken out anyone and everyone that represented a threat to them and used the MSM sensationalists to do it. If Hillary was a Republican, she'd already be in prison.

The House presents the funding bills to the Senate for approval....

Reid blocked all of them.

It is not the House's fault.

Like Elessar said, much of Orange County is strongly conservative. Including my husband and his family. There are fewer far-right conservatives than you might find elsewhere. My husband's supervisor describes himself as a "thinking conservative." Which he says means he has conservative views, but is willing to call BS on far-right wacko ideas.
