There are a select few here who will remember the movie The Warriors. It is an elite club, the movie came out in 1979 and I imagine some of you were not yet a glimmer in your papa's eye and some of you were too young...

Here's the trailer:

A friend of mine sent me a link today that I found damn amusing, and I am sure that any fan of the movie will be tickled by it as well...

The little gay guy died of AIDS. Go figure. That movie caused so much trouble in Miami with the wannabe's they pulled it from the theaters. My favorite was Ajax. Go figure. Shit I knew they was wimps.

I watched it when it first came out. I thought it was fairly good but the supposed fighting looked like crap to me. I was twenty-five years old working as bouncer three nights a week , putting 10 to 12 hours a day construction work. Only saw it because I took my two nephews to the movies that night. They watched some kid show(SINGING COWBOY FLICK I THINK) rated PG, I got stuck watching that movie.--TYR

All fighting scenes are staged. I actually thought the bat fight in Central Park was awesome. And I'm one of the WORST people about realism in movies. You don't carry an 1873 Peacemaker in the Civil War. And if they're just too hokey, time to go. The bat fight scene was actually based on kenjutsu. They just used bats instead of swords.

You can't expect more of a movie than it's intended to be. It was a suspended world that didn't exist at the time. The worst time the actors had was with the actual Coney Island gang. They could only wear their "colors" at certain times.

Its notoriety comes from all the crap it caused. It was pulled from a lot of theaters in a lot of states because of the gang fights it caused.

And I was working as a bouncer at the same time. Just wasn't as old as you, crusty fucker.

I think Cleon got more screen time in this new video than he got in the original movie

He gets more time in the director's cut and in the edited for TV version. It's used a filler for the latter for all the stuff they cut out. Which was dumb. A movie like that? Why even bother with tv?
