German far-right mobilising against migrants: spy chief

Berlin (AFP) - Germany's domestic intelligence chief warned Sunday of a radicalisation of right-wing groups amid a record influx of migrants, as xenophobic rallies and clashes shook several towns at the weekend.

"What we're seeing in connection with the refugee crisis is a mobilisation on the street of right-wing extremists, but also of some left-wing extremists" who oppose them, said Hans-Georg Maassen on Deutschlandfunk public radio.

He added that for the past few years his service had witnessed a "radicalisation" and "a greater willingness to use violence" by all extremist groups, including the far right, the anti-fascist far left and Islamists.

Maassen spoke as Germany expects up to one million migrants this year, and after protests against refugee homes and clashes with police again rocked several towns at the weekend, mostly in the former communist East Germany.

Police and soldiers guarded two buses carrying about 100 migrants Saturday night to a shelter in the town of Niederau, in the eastern Saxony state, after right-wing protesters had rallied at the site, a former supermarket, since Friday.

More than 1,000 people also demonstrated against refugees in several towns in the eastern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Friday, including in coastal Stralsund where three people were wounded in clashes with counter-protesters.

In the eastern city of Leipzig, the right-wing rally "Offensive for Germany", organised by a local anti-Islam activist with about 400 marchers, sparked a larger left-wing counter-protest that police said drew more than 1,000 activists.

In the ensuing street clashes, the rival groups hurled rocks and fireworks at each other.

In the western city of Bremen unknown persons attempted to set fire to a tent set to house refugees from October.

This year alone has seen 22 arson attacks against would-be or existing refugee shelters, said Maassen, whose service is called the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Wow, right-wing extremists and left-wing extremists oppose the muslim invaders they say!
And the damn liberal fools(globalist minded minions) still don't get it!
Sickening the blindness that fear brings to such cowardly scum that they seek to appease the rampaging monster- Islam- at any price!

Did you notice how the omitted the left-wing joining the opposition in the title?
I did... Title makes it look like that only right wing conservative types are opposing. -Tyr

The way I read that said that the left-wingers were opposing the right-wingers, not joining them.

Correct you are! Had me worried there for a bit , since the leftists always support the invading muslims- I thought the world perhaps was flipping upside down.

And notice how they say a in larger crowd(over a thousand) in the city of Leipzig, opposed the 400 protesters?
Thus presenting that the majority favors the invading horde be let in to destroy . -Tyr

It's hard to miss, isn't it? Reading the news you'd think that every European favors the left and all right wingers over there are basically just uneducated and Nazis waiting to happen. For a place that claims they love diversity they don't seem to have much of it in their political spectrum.

Mainstream Media plays it the same lying , devious way here my friend.
Pathetically sad--is it not? -Tyr

Translation: Oh hell....the people are getting pissed off and are starting to get uppity....because we've been ignoring their wishes and have been allowing massive immigration despite what most of them want. Better get the propaganda machine up and running on this!

More proof of my statements. WHEN exactly did National Socialist German Workers' Party become right wing? Crap, the Dems we have now are NAZIs.

I'm new here so I'm not familiar with the statements you've made before about this. I don't see things in terms of left and right, I see them in terms of statism vs. liberty. No matter how I see things that doesn't change the fact that the media refer to people they see as right wingers as nazis even if that might not be technically correct.

Hang around. You'll get familiar with me.

We pretty much speak the same language, just a matter of terminology. I speak in terms of left and right in a relative manner since both have reversed positions/stances, and to speak in the vernacular. I'm all for liberty and hate statism. Now try explaining that concept to people who voted for Obama. I loved the 60s and 70s. Wasn't someone up your butt 24-7 ('cept maybe your dad).

I just find it all too obvious that the NAZIs were leftists, but if the MSM tells the left here they were rightwingers, it must be true. There is no such thing as true conservatism unless you're dead and true leftwingnut progressivism is a drive off the cliff with lemmings.

Nazi ideology was very close to today's far right extremism.
The Nazis believed in Social Darwinism. They were extremely nationalistic and only accepted those they felt were true believers and patriots of the German state. Nazis were merely against Jews and blacks. They opposed anyone who was not pure German. It was an all-male world where only a chosen few had power.
Hitler and GW Bush had one point in common -- "If you aren't with us, you're against us."

Nope. Wrong. NAZIs can be identified most closely with the Democratic Party. And your own post is just more proof of it.

No. The Nazis were about allegiance to the state. That's not the right.
