I have to ask, do we have the dumbest people in the world running our government right now?

NATO’s secretary general warned Thursday of a “troubling escalation” in Russian military activities in Syria, saying the alliance stands firmly behind member Turkey even as Moscow broadens its air and sea attacks.

On Tuesday, U.S. and Russian officials tentatively agreed to resume talks on how to coordinate in the skies over Syria. Turkey, a NATO member that shares a border with Syria, has already accused Russia of violating its airspace.

But Defense Secretary Ashton Carter ruled out any cooperation with Moscow in the fight against the Islamic State, saying that Russia’s strategy was clearly just to support Assad and his government.

“We believe Russia has the wrong strategy. They continue to hit targets that are not ISIL. This is a fundamental mistake,” Carter said, using one of the acronyms for the Islamic State.

This isn't about Turkey, Turkey hasn't been threatened by Russia and NATO sounds really weak here even trying to make this about Turkey.

Ashton Carter needs to resign right now or even better be fired. Is anyone surprised that Russia is backing its long time ally? If you are you shouldn't be. With our current leadership America, and NATO by extension, is a paper tiger and they just got called out and have no clue what to do. I hate to say this and I never thought there'd be a time when I would say this but I have to agree with Putin's assessment of the situation.

My concern here isn't Russia, it's us. Our policy has clearly been designed to cause the maximum amount of chaos and we just got called on it. I hope Obama is smart enough to not make things worse than he already has.

Uh. Yes.

Here's the thing - I'd love a hybrid of Putin and Netanyahu to be OUR president.

Support Putin 100% in getting rid of these terrorists. The FSA is an illusion and in no way 'moderate'. They may be officially against ISIS in the battle field but in ideology they are almost the same. The FSA ally themselves with organisations such as the Islamic Front (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Front_(Syria)).

Once again the United States governments and its vassals want a leadership change for their own geopolitical gains. This time Russia is saying no, you have gone too far. I agree.
