No, this is not about me.

We are hoping to get a new doggie tomorrow. We are second on the list at the Humane Society. If the first people don't choose her, then we will.

I need a good name for a cute, ugly little dog. My goodness, she is so cute and friendly but her face looks like a Democrat or worse! lol

She is a miniature poodle, about one year old and about 6 pounds.

So far, we have come up with Callie, Olive, Penny, and Soupspoon.

Any ideas?

I tend to love pet names with "ie/y" sounds. Zoe or Chloe are popular names right now. My female pup is named Kissy (she's the sneakiest fastest kisser I've ever owned).

Perianne, before you choose a name, no matter the actual sex of the dog, be sure you know with which gender it identifies.

What kind of historical figures do you favor? Military, politicians, actors? Good names with good stories attached can be found there. Ingrid might be nice. Betsy (as in Ross) could be cool. Anne Bonny after a female pirate. V4R and I have, among others, a Nelson and an Emma (after the British admiral and his mistress) as well as an Andy Jackson.

I named our previous poodle (RIP) Mollie Bean, after the Civil War historical figure.

We didn't get the homely poodle.

Instead, we chose Evie, a dachshund-yorkie mix.

Cute! Are you sticking with the name Evie?

Apparently not. She is more fitting of "Peanut", so that is her new name.

I wouldn't do that to any dog. But I might name it Hillary if I had a pet lizard.

If I had an Iguana named Hillary, I would eat it for lunch.

Peanut. We should have named her Gasbag. Geez, this dog produces rancid flatus.

Little Mollie Bean died one year ago today. I hope she is in doggie heaven.
