He's not quite as loony as Bernie or Hellary, but he's still a nutjob. As I watched him babble at the debate, I found myself wondering if he's slightly insane.

The only idea he's got that I like is about the USA converting to the metric system.

Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee withdrew Friday from the Democratic presidential race, further narrowing the already thin field of competitors facing front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Chafee, who has struggled to gain traction in the polls, announced his decision at a Women's Leadership Forum conference where other candidates also were speaking.

"After much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today," Chafee said, while reminding the audience of his "prosperity through peace" campaign slogan. Appealing for less U.S. military intervention abroad, he said: "I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace."

The former Rhode Island governor and senator had a hard time on the campaign trail competing against Clinton as well as liberal Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

In last week's Democratic debate Chafee referred to himself as a "block of granite" when it came to issues and said he was most proud of his judgment, particularly his vote against the Iraq war. But his performance was widely panned due to his stumbling over questions about his record and his reason for seeking the presidency -- even as he was perhaps the most critical of Clinton of those on stage.

Yeah he looked like he had a screw loose. Be interesting to see if O'Malley gets any time next debate or if it will be Sanders vs Clinton. Course Sanders doesn't seem to really debate, he just kisses Hillary's ass

I'm convinced there's already a deal in place with a Hellary / Sanders ticket. Sanders had a golden opportunity to sink Hellary at the debate and wreck her campaign, but for some reason (ahem!) he didn't take her out. Instead he thew her a lifeline and pulled her back to safety. The only thing those two didn't do immediately after that was start making out on stage.

O'Malley doesn't have a chance against those two. Unless, of course, Hellary is removed from the equation.

But when the indictment is handed down, I predict magnificent chaos - I'm looking forward to the show.

I'm pretty sure that Sanders won't announce the alliance until after the FBI is done, in order to keep that indictment from tarnishing his own campaign. It would be political suicide to do anything else.

My wife said the same thing re the ticket. I like the idea of magnificent chaos in this situation. I hope your prediction comes true.

America is always better off without anyone named Lincoln.
