We won't hear good news like that anywhere. It doesn't fit the agenda to DIVIDE us, rather than UNITE us!

Gee, coincidence?

Man’s Facebook post about traffic stop goes viral
TUCSON, Ariz. — A man’s Facebook post about a recent traffic stop is going viral.
Steven Hildreth Jr. says he was pulled over by the Tucson Police Department for a broken headlight. When the officer asked if he had any weapons, he told him he is a concealed carry permit holder and had a gun on his right hip.
Because his wallet was in his back-right pocket, the officer needed to disarm him to check his ID. Hildreth wrote about his experience with the officer and posted it to his Facebook page.
Hildreth’s Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/stevenhildrethjr/photos/a.560555720661154.1073741826.267833853266677/1010278339022221/) has been shared more than 135,000 times.

So, I’m driving to my office to turn in my weekly paperwork. A headlight is out. I see a Tucson Police Department squad vehicle turn around and follow me. I’m already preparing for the stop.
The lights go on and I pull over. The officer asks me how I’m doing, and then asks if I have any weapons.
“Yes, sir. I’m a concealed carry permit holder and my weapon is located on my right hip. My wallet is in my back-right pocket.”
The officer explains for his safety and mine, he needs to disarm me for the stop. I understand, and I unlock the vehicle. I explain that I’m running a 7TS ALS holster but from the angle, the second officer can’t unholster it. Lead officer asks me to step out, and I do so slowly. Officer relieves me of my Glock and compliments the X300U I’m running on it. He also sees my military ID and I tell him I’m with the National Guard.
Lead officer points out my registration card is out of date but he knows my registration is up to date. He goes back to run my license. I know he’s got me on at least two infractions. I’m thinking of how to pay them.
Officers return with my Glock in an evidence back, locked and cleared. “Because you were cool with us and didn’t give us grief, I’m just going to leave it at a verbal warning. Get that headlight fixed as soon as possible.”
I smile. “Thank you, sir.”
I’m a black man wearing a hoodie and strapped. According to certain social movements, I shouldn’t be alive right now because the police are allegedly out to kill minorities.
Maybe…just maybe…that notion is bunk.
Maybe if you treat police officers with respect, they will do the same to you.
Police officers are people, too. By far and large, most are good people and they’re not out to get you.
I’d like to thank those two officers and TPD in general for another professional contact.
We talk so much about the bad apples who shouldn’t be wearing a badge. I’d like to spread the word about an example of men who earned their badges and exemplify what that badge stands for.

Latinos in East Los Angeles held a "Back the Blue" rally a few weeks ago. Sent invites to all media outlets. No one showed up and no mention was ever made.

Rather than covering all sides of a question and providing information, the mainstream media is providing an opinion by promoting a script. It becomes very obvious when you begin to realize that for every negative interaction involving police, there are literally thousands of positive ones. Unfortunately, the media prefers to promote the bloodiest failures and hostile reactions so they have more violence to draw ratings and, thus, advertising dollars.

Understand. Marines are all baby killers. Forget the fact we spend more time on Humanitarian assist missions than we do in combat. Cops are getting the same tag.

the problem comes with the word "ALL"
people want use a mental short cut rather than do like the man in the above video suggested. "you never know what kind of person your dealing with until you get to know them" . The police in this case didn't assume the worst of the black guy and they showed themselves to be the kind of police we all want to see.

But cops are not a group that are all the SAME "good" or "bad"
blacks are not ALL the same "good" or "bad" whites .... jews muslims etc..

It seems to me that some people get oversensitive when SOME members of a PROFESSIONAL group are shown to be regularly abusing their authority. This must be addressed and not covered with slogans about "cops are 99% good". Police work is a profession. and those members of the profession that don't live up to the high standards. (as mentioned by the story above) need to be pointed out and removed.

That's all many people really want to see.

If some people want to focus on "'racist' trying to divide" or the mistaken accounts of police wrong doing, well that's sad and short sighted.
It just means the issue of 2-20% of bad police and cities with known bad police practices (like arrest for P.O.P.s -pissing off police-) just get another public cover.
most people (99% maybe) Thank God for the good cops,
but I and many others say no mercy and NO COVER for the bad ones.

That was very good. He shows what 98% of LE is all about.

Where are Indago and the other cop haters on this one.

In fact...where are Obama and Sharpton?

Rev....you are a good writer.

But understand that anyone who uses all-inclusive terms like "ALL" is a narrow-minded and jade fool.

Thus the old TV news saying "If it bleeds, it leads."
