Due to secret military operations the airspace over the Pacific ocean is closed to incoming flights at LAX.

LOS ANGELES (KABC)
Mysterious maneuvers over the Pacific are forcing a change in Los Angeles International Airport landings late at night, meaning noise for thousands of people in the flight path.

Instead of landing from the east over Inglewood, planes begin flying from the west and over the ocean to keep noise levels down, but due to secret military operations, the airspace over the Pacific is closed to incoming flights for the next week.

"We clearly understand that neighbors and communities east of the airport will experience noise and we apologize for that," said Nancy Castles, LAX public relations director.

While strange objects appeared over southern California?

New missile maybe?

Wonder why this is news. The Southern California coast is nothing BUT military. Ewards AFB. MCAS El Toro. Camp Pendleton. The fleet's at 32nd Street Naval Base San Diego. We used to fly up and down the coast all the time. You put 6 birds in the air and only one can land at a time, what do you think the other 5 pilots are doing? Jerking around would be a good word. Trying to see how many Marines they can make puke is another.

Geez, already got the UFO conspiracy theorists all excited. Guess what .... we don't train over China.

So what do you think the lights were? New missile/weapon test?

I'm military. I DON'T think about what I think the lights were. We didn't know about the F-117 until it got used. Y'all like to sit around and question the why and how of everything but if that F-117 comes in and clears us a path, we don't care where who or how. It could be a flying saucer and I wouldn't care.

I care about accomplishing a mission and bringing my boys home. Alive.

Y'all spend too much time caring about crap that doesn't matter.

Strange blue lights during a secret military exercise is important in finding out what it is.

I heard they were strange GREEN lights. Guess what? We use blue red and green lights all the time. Our flashlights (torches to you) come with the filters.

And how you you have military secrets and military superiority if you have to spell it out in the media?

That is not a flashlight that seems like a missile. All they need to do is just say that we are carrying out missile tests. Not really publishing the blue prints.

Looks like they finally released a statement confirming it was a missile test

This is certainly a new missile.

Thing is if you want to look at something ..WHY is the media making something of it? Get all the conspiracy theorists stirred up? Distract the public from what's going on politically?

We always practiced off the coast. You know how many times I've invaded the San Onofre nuclear reactors? There's just no mystery here.

I'm not sure I see the problem.

What matters is that the US authorities are sure that their airspace isn't being violated .. and it seems that whatever's going on, is known about and is sanctioned by those needing to.

Since that's the case, I don't see that greater detail needs to be known. Indeed, if security issues could be involved, it should be our duty to NOT question this on an open forum .. ?

I only posted it up because of how unusual the missile was.

.. in which case, there's no issue to discuss.

Suggest you do a bit of walking around at night, and start a conspiracy theory or 2. Revelarts would be eternally grateful ... :laugh2:

Well there is since the missile is something which has not been seen before. It looks to be new.

How was it unusual? I don't know but I'm going to give you a good guess. Infrared doesn't pick up green nor red. That means the green lights couldn't be detected by radar. If the missile is "unusual" it means they're trying to get something that motion sensors can't detect either.

So, since 'something new' is seen, this must be openly discussed in as much detail, and with as much contention, as you choose ?

Sorry - but given that this IS known about and is sanctioned by the proper authorities, I think this means that no additional controversy is either needed, or is helpful.

If the UK came up with 'something new' which they wanted to test out, to what extent should the world think itself entitled to discuss it in the greatest detail possible, on public forums ?

No I want the military to admit they are doing a missile test (which they did but too late). You test things if they are new. This certainly is a new missile.

Navy Strategic Systems Programs conducted a Trident II (D5) missile test flight at sea from the Kentucky, an Ohio class submarine, in the Pacific Test Range off the coast of Southern California.

Why?

Why should the military admit a thing? There's this whole idea behind "top secret" that means "top secret".

Saying "missile test" is not giving blue prints:rolleyes:

They need to say it is a missile test before they actually do it.

Sure it is. Others want to make more of it than it is. How does saying "it is" make it more than Clinton's violation of the law? Oh yeah ... it doesn't. How do you expect us to have top secret weapons if you think we need to tell you everything in the media just because you think you have the "Right" to know?

If it was secret it would be at China Lake, 29 Palms or in New Mexico. Flying off the coast in SoCal isn't where it's happening. Even if it was Edwards, they'd take it out to sea out of line of sight.

If you judged from the photo alone, it could be a number of things. A meteor trail, maybe ?

Is it a bird ? Is it a plane ? No, it's ....

I don't see what the point is. And no offense to the OP. Secret weapons are called secret weapons for a secret reason. Not like O-blah-blah's going to use it on anything. He can't even use the one between his ears.
