The Pentagon has responded to a globally-released 'Kill List', asking law enforcement to give extra protection for military personnel whose personal information was released.
CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports the Pentagon spent the weekend notifying the soldiers who appeared on the list, and urged city police departments and military police to increase patrol in the neighborhoods where the targeted live.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) published the list days ago, a report that contained names, photos (http://www.newschannel10.com/story/28603897/isis-releases-kill-list-seven-texas-cities-included#), and home addresses of U.S. Armed Forces personnel, causing alarm in cities potentially at high-risk.
According to the publication, ISIS urges followers and sympathizers in the U.S. to kill the servicemen. Specific personnel on the list are largely from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy - branches of the country's military that have conducted massive air strikes against ISIS.

The air strikes have left ISIS mostly defenseless, killing over 8,000 fighters with attacks carried out on more than 5,000 targets. But ISIS appears to be fighting back through forms of social media.

The Pentagon says the the targeted appeared to be compiled from public sources -- anything from news articles to Facebook posts (http://www.newschannel10.com/story/28603897/isis-releases-kill-list-seven-texas-cities-included#) that could have linked them to attacks on the terrorist group. Officials with the Pentagon say some members were incorrectly identified, but right or wrong, it's still a threat.

Seven Texas cities were included on the list: Abilene, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Wyle, Fort Hood, Bedford, and Killeen.
Cities expected to increase in security due to the threat are below:

Seems pretty desperate that they're prepared to release such information publicly, rather than try and act on it privately.

... er'm, doesn't this all come under the heading of 'TERRORISM' .. ??

Since when, Noir, did terrorists choose to see terrorism as not involving attempts to terrorise ?!?

Pleasse, Noir, do us all a favour, and GET A CLUE .....:poke:

Wow, did they pick a bad target. Concealed handguns and open beer cans are both legal in Texas (BOTH are a ppint of pride for the state). I mean, shit, pretty much everyone in Texas is armed, it's more or less a matter of how much, and what kind. Picking them as a target is just plain stupid.

I agree that releasing anything in advance isn't very helpful, but considering the recent events in Egypt and then Paris, I don't think they're too desperate.

There aren't 7 Texas cities they can attack. We have only 3 liberal ones. But you come on after the rest of us. We'll be more than happy to entertain your asses. Just call us Motel 6 -- We'll leave the light on for you ass. Our kids know how to shoot from their highchairs.

Dumb ass bastards had better leave Texas and the South alone. We Southern boys learn to shoot long before age 10 and are expert by age 14, - while those bastards are such bad shots that they use suicide bombs instead of rifles!
And us old timers , can hunt , track 'em , shoot 'em and skin the bastards all before our noon meal.
Hell, I always wanted to turn my inner Injun loose and skin an enemy-- ISIS MUSLIM SCUM BEING A PRIME CANDIDATE FOR THAT
UNIQUE EXPERIENCE..
AND DOUBLE SCALPS--IF THEIR STINKING ALLAH BEARD COUNTS TOO..

What all these city-dwelling yankees and msulims don't know, is you just come on down. When the rednecks come crawling out of the woodwork, we'll see how that works for ya. First thing we need to do is get rid of the talking head idiots allowing them to invade.

And while a lot of people don't like Mexicans, you go right the f*ck ahead and get between them and their paycheck. One thing you have NEVER heard me say about them is they can't work. AND, they hate Arabs. :)

11:31 AM, both of our posts-- and we both said the bastards haven't a damn clue about what they are biting off if they try that shat with Southern rednecks- for we are not the normal run of the mill animal.
Not we that are 40 years old and/or older.
And were born and raised by Southern moms and dads that go back to 1901 and that way of life/thinking. --Tyr

ISIS like to bury bad news under ultra-violence. Everytime they lose a city - videos of beheadings are scattered across social media, death threats and ill intentioned warnings abound...it's notable that in the run up to the Paris attacks, ISIS lost control of the city of Sinjar, and the town of Al-Hawl, cutting off ISIS supply routes in the region, not to mention the apparent killing of Mohammed Emwazi via drone attack.

In in the light of these pretty terrible results for ISIS, a city attack followed, and some death threats -that they apparently were not able to act on in any other way- where made public.
I think their weakness is obvious in their desire to look strong.

I never said we were normal. I was more on the line of just come here and f*ck with us. Push comes to shove, I think I got more hillbillies in my family than ISIS has members. And even the girls can shoot. In case you missed it, my paternal family is from the hills around New Market, AL. They can come on up. :)

Somebody asked if someone had a "plan" in one of these threads. I'm heading for the hills and my family.

You live in GA, right? My grandfather was a retired CSM out of Benning with the 7th. Spent quite a few summers in Columbus. My dad was born in Anniston. New Market is 16 miles east of Huntsville. My family owns pretty much the whole valley if you turn left and head towards the Tennessee River. A few "distilleries" around them parts.

I live in Arkansas. Born and raised here, sad ain't it.
But I have traveled around those parts as an adult and visited my father's home turf.
Back in my boyhood home-town--moonshiners were like fleas on a dog's back, back in tha days that was so damn profitable-during Prohibition and long before , and even some since, even up into the 60's.-Tyr

I'd be delighted to think of ISIS as weak. But their arrogance and sheer bloodthirstiness is the real truth. YES, they want victories, and they'll happily consider the Paris atrocities as a victory. A form of perverted pride may be involved.

Lefties like to try and find a way of underestimating enemies, and to cause others to. This post of yours, pushing the idea of 'weakness', doesn't this follow such a goal ? Just as the BBC pushed the ridiculous propaganda of their mini-series, 'Power of Nightmares', which tried to convince the viewer that Al Qaeda had only a fraction of its actual strength and quantifiable perniciousness, couching the popular consensus about them as a 'neocon dream'.

So, sorry, Noir. Underestimating an enemy is not a game I'm willing to subscribe to. You deal with enemies most effectively by viewing them in true, accurate terms.

By the way .. a news item, just today .. Jeremy Corbyn, UK's Labour (Socialist) leader, today announced that his position on the police having a 'shoot to kill' freedom if they faced anything comparable to the Paris attack, would be something he would NOT support.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34832023

Jeremy Corbyn says he is "not happy" with UK police or security services operating a "shoot-to-kill" policy in the event of a terror attack.

The Labour leader told the BBC such an approach could "often be counter-productive".

He also declined to answer what he called the "hypothetical question" of whether he would ever back military intervention against extremists.

"I'm not saying I would or I wouldn't," he said.

What a disgusting position to take. However, it does have one 'advantage' going for it ... it fully feeds, operationally speaking, into the notion that there's something 'good' about actions taken in furthering the cause of 'human rights' of terrorists ... if, in committing their acts, terrorists know that no matter what they do, no matter who they kill or maim, they themselves need fear NO likelihood of police killing THEM.

[Perhaps the real weakness, Noir, comes from the extremist Socialist nutters who'll bend over backwards to consider being soft on terrorist scum .. ?]

How nice for them ... if rather LESS nice, for their VICTIMS ....
