What kind of President do you want?

There are various comments here about how {fill in the blank} can't make an effective President because he/she "does not know how to lead", or "has no leadership experience". I've seen it about Trump, Carson, and others.

It amuses me that someone who heads billion dollar corporations with thousands of employees, or successfully heads the entire Neurosurgery department at arguably the finest hospital in the country, is deemed "not a leader".

Yet, a guy who perhaps spent a term or two in government office is such a leader. It doesn't even make sense.

Give me a guy who commanded in the military, ran a business, or made life and death decisions any day. They are proven leaders. Not the political dweebs who figured out how to get their egos boosted while not-working for a living.

It would be a nice change, to see such a soft spoken man addressing the country, and TRULY believing that he has the countries best interest in his heart. He's done pretty good so far in taking the shit tossed at him in stride.

I really like Carson. I've been watching him for a while and he is learning the game. He is not afraid to take on the news media and has a unique way of campaigning that makes me believe he has a shot. Just wish he would drink more coffee.

But I agree with Carson. The leftwingnut hype machine has gone into action because he got too high in the polls. While it may sound exciting, being in the military or even being an electrician is tedious, long and boring and you have to get it right. Go ahead and screw up wiring a hot 480v panel.

What that tells ME is a man who can stand in surgery for a day and not screw up knows his stuff. He's not gong to get rattled and he's going to think things through before he makes a move. The MSM hasn't even managed to get him flustered.

And I don't give a damn what he did when he was a kid.

I'm with Gunny on this one. I'll take the guy who is steady and reliable under fire and has the presence of mind to react efficiently and effectively in any circumstance. That takes integrity, common sense (and intelligence) and knowledge. Guys like Carson are also good at assembling teams of the right people to get the job done. He wont put some idiot in charge of anything just because of political skullduggery.

We saw that happen with Obama being elected. He had a mantra .. 'hope and change'. He didn't truthfully and candidly explain what he meant by that. But, it resonated with people, and 'a popular vote of the people' saw him elected. On the strength of a soundbyte !

I think truthfulness, being candid, being REPUTABLE, and genuinely standing for the values your country is supposed to stand for itself, SHOULD be a better recipe for a worthwhile President.
