It's always shocking when a Head of State is assassinated. Why Kennedy and Lincoln are so revered in this country beats me. Their only REAL greatness was getting assassinated. Lincoln destroyed the Constitution and Kennedy let his brother run amok while he was out womanizing.

I think people look at what happened after Kennedy was killed (Vietnam, Watergate, counterculture) and assume if Kennedy hadn't been killed, everything would have been different.

Possibly. I've never give it much thought; although, I have given each of those topics thought individually. I just don't get why everyone thinks everything was so "wonderful" then. Granted, we were a LOT more free, but society is as guilty as government for robbing us of that. We were at the height of the Cold War then. Everyone lived in fear of nuclear holocaust just as they live in fear of radical Islam today.

I think a President can make a lot of difference. Look how how Reagan brought us back from that bustard Carter.

As for Kennedy living, I mean what? Could he have been worse than Lyndon Johnson?

Nov. 22, 1963 -- A very bad day for JFK and the nation as a while. But a very good song by the Detroit rock band Destroy All Monsters.
