Of course I was not alive in those days. Even my mother was just a little girl in Finland. I wonder how other countries felt WWII would affect them.

I can only imagine the anger towards the Japanese at the time. I certainly understand the patriotism that must have been felt by all non-leftist Americans.

We owe a great debt to those great Americans who fought and (some) gave their lives for this country.

Sadly. From reports I have heard, and read. World War II veterans are passing at about 1000 per day.

All of us owe OUR LIVES to those who saved the World, and made TODAY possible to be called AMERICANS.

They are leaving us at a very fast rate now, getting faster day-by-day. I miss my dad and all those 'dads' that were Vets when I was a kid. They came home and just got on with it. They were most definitely grateful for the GI Bill which changed everything for those that came home.

probably the best ever attack scene. also credit for showing the carnage at the Naval Hospital as the staff is over whelmed by the wounded and dying

I sometimes wonder how WWII would have been affected if Roosevelt had acted on what he knew. And possibly prevented it.

On November 25, 1941 Japan’s Admiral Yamamoto sent a radio message to the group of Japanese warships that would attack Pearl Harbor on December 7. Newly released naval records prove that from November 17 to 25 the United States Navy intercepted eighty-three messages that Yamamoto sent to his carriers. Part of the November 25 message read: “...the task force, keeping its movements strictly secret and maintaining close guard against submarines and aircraft, shall advance into Hawaiian waters, and upon the very opening of hostilities shall attack the main force of the United States fleet in Hawaii and deal it a mortal blow...”

The American public were largely in opposition to getting involved until that attack
and the other territories in the South Pacific.

the only message sent to his carriers was "climb Mount Niitaka" the code to attack Pearl

I wonder how the last 7 years would have gone if some dumbass Dems had used their brains and not put our current Idiot in Chief in the WH .... One thing we DO know ... if Japan attacked Pearl Harbor today, O-blah-blah would NOT call it an act of war and Send his stooge Kerry over to make a one-sided peace deal.

I'm more along the lines of "look how far we have fallen". Has nothing to do with skin color. WWII, not Roosevelt bailed us out of the Depression. He created more dependency on the US Government than anyone since Lincoln and we're STILL paying for it.

I'm looking at the mindset, not the suntan.

I'm just hoping we can survive another year of his stupidity. He just keeps trying to outdo himself at most ridiculous. I think he's been on tv every damned day for about 3 weeks just proving he gets more stupid by the day. Hell, I'm surprised he hasn't come out and said Pearl Harbor never happened. Wonder how he'd explain away those battleships at the bottom of the harbor? Probably blame it on Congress.

Bush.

Well, we already know it was Bush's fault.

I just can't believe people can be so stupid. Everything Clinton did wrong was Bush's fault. Everything Obama's done wrong is Bush's fault. 9/11 was Bush fault although it was planned in the 90s.

I just don't understand the complete lack of ability to think. Crap, I bet Pearl harbor was Hoover's fault just like they blamed the stock market crash on him when it was actually Coolidge's doing.

Umm, a sternly worded letter? I don't know the basis for your question. I'm not sure of how we stop him from doing what he already did but at that point it comes down to winning.
