Kurt Russell Says Something That Will Have Gun-Grabbing Liberals Freaking Out
This is AWESOME! Especially coming from super-liberal Hollywood.

Actor Kurt Russell was interviewed (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/12/10/actor-kurt-russell-fiercely-pushes-back-against-anti-gun-hollywood-interviewer-what-are-you-going-to-do-ban-everything/) by Hollywood reporter Jeffrey Wells and Wells asked him a lot about a bunch of gun control issues. And self-proclaimed libertarian Russell was having none of it –

When Wells went on to say that guns are a ”metaphor that disenfranchised white guys need,” Russell let loose.

“If you think gun control is going to change the terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind,” he began. “I think anybody [who says that] is. I think it’s absolutely insane.”

“Dude, you’re about to find out what I’m gonna do, and that’s gonna worry you a lot more,” the actor continued.

“And that‘s what we need. That will change the concept of gun culture, as you call it, to something [like] reality.

Which is, if I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goal tender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do — I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do to stop him. That’s when things change.”

Arguing back, Wells invoked the no-fly list, saying that the people on the list are there for a “good reason,” but that they can allegedly still “get [a] hold of a gun pretty easily.”

“They can also make a bomb pretty easily. So what?” Russell retorted. “They can also get knives and stab you. [What are you] gonna do about that? They can also get cars and run you over. [What are you] gonna do about that?”

When Wells argued back that the San Bernardino terrorists didn’t use cars, Russell fought back, saying that previous terrorists have used cars to murder people.

“But they’ve killed others that way, haven’t they?” he said. “Yeah, yeah. Whaddaya gonna do? Outlaw everything? That isn’t the answer.”

LOVE.

That was a question? Kurt Russell has been a hardass since he was a kid. And he can afford to buck the Hollyweird elite. He doesn't need their work no their money. He's been working since the mid-60s when he was a teen.

Hell, I wish HE would run for President. I'll vote for Wyatt Earp.

His support has been around for awhile. Wouldn't call him a 'regular' GOP like some use:

t’s easy to see a libertarian streak in many of the characters movie star Kurt Russell has portrayed over the years.

As anti-hero Snake Plissken in 1996′s Escape from L.A. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/6305222886?ie=UTF8&tag=advocforselfg-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=6305222886), he sneers about freedom, “In America? That died a long time ago.” As genetically engineered trooper Sgt. Todd in 1998′s Soldier (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0790740443?ie=UTF8&tag=advocforselfg-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0790740443), he defends peaceful farmers on the planet Arcadia 234 against murderous cyborg supermen sent by a militaristic government. As real-life Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks in 2004′s Miracle (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001US66E?ie=UTF8&tag=advocforselfg-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0001US66E), he defies authority and uses unconventional coaching methods to mold a ragtag collection of American college kids into a team that beat the unbeatable Soviets.

That libertarian streak is no coincidence; Russell himself is one of Hollywood highest-profile libertarians — one who has talked about his pro-liberty beliefs on numerous occasions.

In the British magazine Talking Pictures (Spring 1997), Russell said, “I am by nature libertarian… don’t tread on me, just leave me alone, that’s all.” When he introduced former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at a speech in Los Angeles, Russell went out of his way to note, “I’m not a Republican; I’m a libertarian.” (Variety, January 19, 1998.) At the 20th anniversary celebration of the Cato Institute in Washington, DC, Russell said, “I’m a libertarian. I think a lot of people are libertarians and are afraid to admit it — or don’t know.” (TheWashington Post, May 2, 1997.) And on Fox TV’s The O’Reilly Factor (February 6, 2004), Russell said his politics are “limited constitutional government. I believe in that. Freedom, freedom, freedom. Being a libertarian, I do believe that limited government is good.”

Russell wasn’t always a libertarian. He told the Toronto Sun (August 4, 1996), “I was brought up as a Republican. But when I realized that at the end of the day there wasn’t much difference between a Democrat and Republican, I became a libertarian.”

I've never heard about his politics before... common sense is a rare commodity in Hollywood.

He's been around all my life. He started out on some TV show western where his parents were killed and he and his sister had to survive and they were like teeny-boppers. Did Disney movies for awhile. I think what is telling is this:

He's NEVER taken a side before. He's just kept his mouth shut. Now you want to take away his guns. Doesn't appear he's ready to go along with that program.

Missed the western, but I remember watching him in Disney movies back in the early 70s when I was a wee lad.

I liked him in Soldier and Tombstone the best. The former kind of reminds me of someone. :)
