View Full Version : World leaders agree on "Climate Accord" - but provide no enforcement

Yes, the world's leaders are at it again. They are announcing that, since they passed a law saying we will reverse climate change, that means we CAN reverse climate change. All we had to do was pass a law, and/or reach an "agreement".

None of them is commenting on the fact that, in more than 40 years since it became an issue, no one has ever found the slightest proof that man's actions had any effect on the changing climate. Nor can he do anything to change it back.

All the so-called "scientific research" presents not a single bit of proof. Nothing but references to studies, which then refer to other studies, on and on in a comical circle-jerk with no end.

In more than 40 years.

But this agreement commits us to spend trillions of dollars in a futile quest to prove the Earth is flat.

But there is an out, which these leaders are also quietly not mentioning. They claim that since the accord says the participants "shall" limit temperature increase, that makes it "binding".

But if, say, China were to fail to meet its promised goals, what will then be done to them in consequence?

Well, nothing.

Ditto for Russia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, and every other country crowing how "binding" this agreement is.

No enforcement.

It's nothing but a gigantic feel-good paper, whose only real result will be the transfer of millions of dollars from taxpayers to the pockets of those with the gaudiest promises to "change things". No need for them to actually succeed. Which is fortunate for them since they can't. Nobody can. Nobody has ever even come up wit a scheme that works.

Only schemes they SAY will work... but have never tried.

But you and I will get the bill anyway.

Paris climate change deal LIVE - ministers adopt historic agreement to keep global warming "well below" 2C

London Daily Telegraph

'The most important international agreement in history'

Achim Steiner, executive director of the United Nations Environment Programme, said the hard work was now only just beginning but hailed a huge achievement:

"The Paris agreement is probably the most important international agreement in history. Nations of the world have underlined that climate change is a threat to the security and prosperity of all societies, and can only be addressed through unity of purpose. A sustainable future benefits all of humanity.

"This agreement is a testament to the ability of our societies to set aside differences and confront collective challenges for the global good. Importantly, the agreement has provisions to protect the most vulnerable. Fairness and equity are at the heart of this accord.

"Governments have sent a signal to the private sector that the momentum toward sustainability cannot be stopped. This is what the world needed to see.

I never have gotten this crap. I agree it's about 40-something outside. Could I get my global warming upped by these "world leaders" about 40 degrees? That sure as Hell looks like snow on the mountains I see.

None of this makes sense, when you think about it. If man-made pollutants are in the environment, even IF you buy into the idea that mankind has been poisoning the planet's environment ... do you hear ONE WORD on any measures achievable to get RID of what's already there ?

By what mechanism, by what means, is such a thing accomplished ? Has anyone learned of any plans for the elimination of these pollutants ? Can we, for example, destroy any excesses of co2 gases that currently exist ? Do we have a machine that'll do it ? Or a counter-agent for it, which can be applied to that gas ?

The very BEST we can do is to have an effect on the extent to which we ADD to what's THERE ALREADY. And if what's THERE ALREADY is doing DAMAGE, then how do we stop it ?

I think the whole thing's a gigantic (and pathetic) con.

Everyone's supposed to think that just by reducing the rate by which we pollute, somehow, this means that we're reducing what's already been released. It's like saying that if you fire a bullet, then somehow reduce the velocity of the next bullet you fire, the first bullet fired ceases to exist !!!

Sorry, folks, but I'm not that gullible. Oh, and Al Gore is either a con man or a nutter.

What are they going to do? purchase more carbon credits? The arrogance kills me. Man's now so brilliant he's going to change nature.
