Let me say this to all. If you kill my daughter because of your drunk driving, I will spend the rest of my life pursuing you for revenge. Hopefully a family member did that to this punk.

Dang, I read a story on this-searched his name, found 'worst parents' and the story. Horrifying.

Not making any excuses for the kids, but the doctor testifying is right when he says 'there are lots of kids being raised like this, though without such tragic circumstances.' I knew at least 5 kids like this growing up, not really friends but knew them for a long time. One died when he was 16, for his birthday he got both a new Corvette and a new 'Cuda. He was drunk and drove the 'Vette into a cement barricade at over 100 mph.

I've taught kids raised with this type of 'give them everything, but discipline.'

There are plenty of 'rich minority kids' here too. Many raised as poorly.

It would be interesting to see how many 'minorities' have successfully used this defence. Web-searching looks to be bringing about predictable results...

IF your rich you also can have the problem of "tripping" and "accidentally" penetrating females privates defense.

Millionaire who said he 'tripped,' fell on teen cleared of rape charge
LONDON — A millionaire property developer has been cleared of raping a teenager after claiming he accidentally tripped and fell on her.Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46, was accused of forcing himself on an 18-year-old girl who slept on his sofa in his <culink class="culinks" culang="en" href="http://curiyo.com/en/topic/Maida Vale" title="" style="border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: dashed; cursor: help; display: inline !important; float: none !important; padding: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(0, 151, 247) !important;">Maida Vale</culink> flat after a night out drinking.
The businessman had already had sex with the teenager’s 24-year-old friend, whom he knew, in the bedroom and said his penis might have been poking out of his underwear when he fell on the teen.
The young woman said she had woken up in the early hours of the morning, with Abdulaziz on top of her, forcing himself inside her.
He claimed he had gone to see if the young woman wanted a T-shirt to sleep in or a taxi home. But he said she pulled him on top of her and placed his hand between her legs.
His semen and DNA was found inside the young woman, but he said it was possible he had semen on his hands from having sex with the 24-year-old earlier.
In the evidence, Abdulaziz showed how the girl had put her hand behind his head to pull him towards her, which is how he says he fell.
He said: “I’m fragile, I fell down but nothing ever happened, between me and this girl nothing ever happened.”
The women met the millionaire in <culink class="culinks" culang="en" href="http://curiyo.com/en/topic/West End of London" title="" style="border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: dashed; cursor: help; display: inline !important; float: none !important; padding: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(0, 151, 247) !important;">London’s West End</culink> club, <culink class="culinks" culang="en" href="http://curiyo.com/en/topic/Cirque" title="" style="border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: dashed; cursor: help; display: inline !important; float: none !important; padding: 0px !important; margin: 0px !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(0, 151, 247) !important;">Cirque</culink> le Soir nightclub, where he invited them to his private table.
The jury acquitted him in just 30 minutes of deliberations.

Unless they are in some problem that lands them in the news or courts, one doesn't hear about them. Of the kids I know, they were wonderful young people, sharing of their plenty. The problems arise around adolescence. Part of it I think they recognize 'less fortunate' friends have parents that are more parents to them than their own. Often their parents are off doing their own things-work, travel, serving on charitable boards, etc-rather than parenting.

Most of the 'parties' that went out of control when I was in high school were at these kids homes. The parents were gone. One of my acquaintances that I'd been friends with when I was younger, her parents were gone for 5 months! We were in middle school! She would have been better off at a boarding school. It didn't end well, though the harm wasn't to others.

This occurred in London. Here, if two 20 year olds in college have sex after a night of drinking, the woman can claim rape and lo and behold, the male is a rapist.

true there are cliffs on both sides of the right path in rape cases.

What I don't like is the disparity in the depending not only on which state you are in, but in Texas, it's what city you are in. Ft Worth is redneckville. Had he done the same in Austin or San Antonio, he'd have burned for vehicular manslaughter and would wearing a striped suit. Had it happened in West Texas, he'd probably have not made it to the jail. Not in one piece anyway.

But we can't be too hard on those criminals, you know?

From The Associated Press 17 December 2015:
------------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. Marshals Service have joined the search for a teenager who was serving probation for killing four people in a 2013 drunken-driving wreck after invoking a defense that he suffered from "affluenza." Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said Thursday the search for 18-year-old Ethan Couch was drawing federal resources. The FBI says arrangements are being made for the bureau to join the search.

I thought we were the same age? That sounds 80s. In the 70s it was our own parents teaching us how to party. We didn't have to sneak (much). Just wait for the weekend. Now they're all prim and proper church goers and judged us for doing what they taught us. If you didn't have a drink in one hand and smoke in the other when I was a kid, you had issues.

I feel uncomfortable commenting to you about this topic Abs, and I'll try to be nice, but you know me .... How does one "trip into a vagina?" I would try the consensual sex argument before that one. Well, your honor, I had a stiffy and slipped and there it was. :laugh2:

What a 'tard.

Well, without being too graphic, you and I both know, you don't.

He just literally added insult to injury of that girl. And sounds like a psychotic-level entitled creep.

Alex Lemus, whose brother Sergio Molina was left paralyzed after Ethan Couch hit him, and killed four others in a drunk driving accident, has made an emotional plea on behalf of his family. In a video from Star Telegram, Lemus holds a press conference, asking that justice really be served by Couch helping the family, as they do their best to take care of Molina.

...Couch and his family – who used his wealthy upbringing as a defense in court – have "so much money," but have not offered to help pay for anything.
