View Full Version : A Conversation With Erin

Erin: Who determines what money is spent by the U.S. government?

Peri: The House of Representatives controls the spending.

Erin: Which party controls the House?

Peri: The Republicans, by a wide margin 246-188.

Erin: I read recently where the Omnibus Bill was passed and the Democrats got nearly everything they wanted. How can that happen when the Republicans control the House?

Peri: Sadly, the Republicans either are for the same things or it doesn't matter to them. The Republicans are not on the side of the people who voted them into office and only care that they get elected into office.

Erin: Then why vote for them?

Peri: I don't know.
