Federal income tax

...is an excise tax. Government was never granted the power to lay a direct tax upon the inhabitants of the States.

The last tax we got repealed was the 3% Federal Excise Tax on long distance phone calls in 2006. Instituted in 1898 to pay for the Spanish American War in which AT served with Admiral Dewey aboard his flagship.

I post on a couple of car boards and soon the threads will start on what will you spend your tax return money on for your car? The kids have lists of performance & appearance mods to spend the money on but my list is always the same with the hundreds of dollars I will get back.

Put a small dent in my:

County Real Estate Tax

Twsp. Real Estate Tax

School Tax

Local 1.2 % Earned Income Tax

State Earned Income Tax I will owe

Garbage Collection Tax

I don't see it as a joke. We committed treason against our King because the wealthy here didn't want to pay his taxes. If you look at the OP, we're taxed more by the US government than anyone was taxed by George III. Our government is a mockery of itself.

Agreed! Which is exactly HOW the government manages to SWINDLE, and STEAL from WE THE PEOPLE so easily. Too many of us are so Illiterate when it comes to being informed. We actually get the best Govt. Money (our money) can buy.
