Looks about right. Got a point?

FYI: it gets colder in South Texas than Huntington Beach during the winter.

That sounds about right.

Know your audience. I've got more time in CA from Monterey to San Diego than you probably have time in life. My daughter was born in San Bernardino County. And of all the places I've been ... the CA coast is the one place I never want to see again.

"EEwww... you're a Marine?"

"What gave it away? The uniform or the haircut?"

Gunny, you would love my daughter. She salutes everyone she meets in uniform and thanks them for their service.

For someone who thinks she's got this lock on my psyche, you're not doing real well. I would just smile. If that. I don't want to be thanked for my service and as an enlisted person, damned sure don't want to be saluted. Y'all want to thank us for doing our job and all we remember every time it's said are the ones that didn't make the boat ride back. And I'm NOT knocking your daughter, but this topic gets under my skin.

Go to the VA hospital and thank THOSE broken bodies and souls. Take THEM some flowers or candy. THEY earned it. I did my job.

Nice gesture, none the less, Gabby.

Quite a valid comment, Gunny.

However I think Gabby's comment was a nice gesture
out of respect. I saw it as such.

I don't disagree, and while I squabble with Gabby, I don't dislike her. My comment was meant more as an explanation than anything else. When people say it to me on the street, I just say thanks and move on.

To me, it's turned into a parody.
