So everyone went to the early Star Wars show but me. No one understands why I didn't want to go. I've got an almost 6 month old baby on my hands. I learned in 1985 standing at the head of the aisle with a wailing baby does NOT make you eligible for "Most Popular" among the crowd. And back then is not now. I could crank my daughter around on my hip and do most anything. Probably what's wrong with that damned piece of equipment (hip).

I ain't paying for the price of the ticket and taking out a loan for some popcorn to not get to watch the movie. Guess I better live the next 6 months til it comes out on Blu Ray.

We haven't seen it yet, either. I'm more Star- Trek than Star- Wars anyway.

I like them both. I kind of grew up with Star Trek. I think I was 5 when it first came out. Was 17 when Star Wars came out. So just to start the ball rolling, I was more Cat Kirk fan that Picard. He screwed with Kirk, you just got your butt kicked. Picard would talk his way out of crap.

:)

I liked them both better than any of the others. But my favorite versions were
1. TNG
2. Deep Space Nine

I couldn't stand to watch the one with Captain Kathryn Janeway (?) and her wimpy first officer. Had to stop watching.

Top movie, 10/10 would recommend, and sets up the ground well for the future set of the trilogy with some good nods to Epi's IV, V, and VI

Outside of the movie - Carrie Fisher has been a joy to watch after she became the target of mysoginists online and in print, for daring to age. Her Twitter is well worth a read.

Oh geesh - Noir. Really. (Sigh)
Good movie, 8/10. More than the movie being compelling, finally have a well-made SW movie after lucas fucked up 1-3.

Yup. A woman aging on screen is an unpardonable sin in Hollywood. And in the country at-large. And FWIW, I thought she looked pretty nonetheless, and if aging matters, Mark Hamill has aged quite a bit.

Just saw the movie. Speaking as a non-fan of the whole Star wars thing, I think this was the best one of the bunch.

For those who have seen it, who was your favorite character? I actually liked the little woman with the goggles who ran the "bar". I have no idea what her name is or exactly what the place was, lol.

That is a rancid thought.
