Are you saying that your thick Chicago blood that kept you warm all these years has thinned to nothing?

Cold with gusting winds here with temps in the high teens. Weathermen are fighting as to just how much snow this weekend with models showing between 6 to 24 inches.

And we all know who didn't get a snowblower yet!

As I've gotten older, cold really has bothered me. The winter of 2014 was the last straw! In all my life I'd not had a winter that not only had so much snow, but also horribly cold temps and wind chills-at the same time! The choice was always snow OR cold, not both at same time. If snowing, should be in 20's or 30's; if sub-zero should be clear.

Now I shiver at high 40's. LOL!

It's about time it got cold, you mean. Our High Country ski areas have been hurting with this short season. December and Christmas was a disaster. Tonight it's getting down to 0F. Woot!

It's 19 here in Lexington. A perfect temperature to make a big pot of chili. I am using a totally new recipe as I never like my own chili. People who eat my chili like it, but I don't. So, try try again.

It's not the temperature that matters. It's the range of temperatures in the desert. The sand reflects heat, it does not absorb it. In South Texas, it doesn't cool off until 3 AM just in time to get blazing hot again. In the SW desert the temperature can range 30-40 degrees difference in a a matter of an hour after sundown.

The pain in the ass to me is having to change clothes 4 times day. Try doing THAT on a construction site. I don't know how many times I started off in longjohns and by 10 AM was stripping them off in my truck or a port-a-john.
