belligerence in the Persian Gulf. This incident was a clear contrast to how President Obama deals with Iran."
Ronald Reagan:

From the obvious ways Obama and company have been destroying the leadership in the Pentagon, and DOD. I almost feel as if OBAMA would love to see one of our ships in the Persian Gulf exploding, and sinking to PLEASE him, and his fellow America haters in IRAN. After all. Kerry, and Obama have PAID FOR IT...with the 100 Billion "I'm Sorry for America" package they agreed to in removing the Sanctions.

I'm calling foul on the premise of the OP. It suggests there actually was two battles when it's pretty clear there was only one.

Semantics Gunny. Just semantics, and rhetoric; using what happened to our sailors two weeks ago as an example in comparison to Reagan's actions, with Obama's NON-actions, and apology by Kerry.

When you have a weak CinC that'll throw his own grandmother under the bus, you're indecisive about opening fire. I can't say too much because we don't actually know what the rules of engagement are there. When I was in the Gulf the Iranians used to come out in their little Bayliners with their single .50 mounted on the bow and shake their fists at us.
We went through this with Carter, and it was Iran doing it then too. Just another black eye for the American people at the hands of Obama.
At least Clinton blew up 2 tents and some camels.

I think that recent capture of our men was engineered by obama .
I can think of hundreds of reasons he would do that and its , primarily we paid a few billion dollars to get their release and it also greatly enhanced Iran's image of power(military) in that region.
He sold our nation down the river with that nuke deal-gave them everything and we got exactly nothing in return! Same way he did with that Berghdal escapade, gave everything ,we got nothing but a lousy muslim traitor back. A pattern with him, giving whatever he can to our muslim enemies..
His actions are pure treason but he is immune and thats because the globalists have enough power to insure his doing their bidding stays some-what under cover but many know my words about his open treason are true! They simply have no power to stop it or legally punish him.. -Tyr

I disagree. I think it was purposely done as a show of utter contempt for Obama by Iran, and a propaganda ploy. They're bidding to be THE regional power. Obama's just rolling them out a red carpet because he's rather stick to his agenda for what he thinks is going to be a "great legacy" than do anything. He'll be remember all right. The President that FUBAR'd the Middle East beyond anyone's wild imagination. And every day that passes means it going to cost that many more lives in the long run.

Gunny. Totally agree about the weak-knee'd Idiot in office. As for ROE. There are none when it comes to our people obeying the Politically Correct...ABSENT leadership.
I spent time in the GULF too! We left Norva August 17, 1990, and didn't see Home (The WORLD) again till late March, 1991. I know full well what those iranian ragheads THINK they can do. Truth is. If we had someone as a leader. Those missiles the Iranians fired near our ships, and the capture of our sailors....WOULD HAVE SEEN THE DESTRUCTION, and ROLLING THUNDER happening all over again.
But when WUSSIES run Washington. You get WUSSIES who are afraid to HURT the enemy's feelings.

*The Samuel B, Roberts was escorting Kuwaiti oil tankers In international waters when it struck the mine..The
"International" court of justice said Reagan was a bad man for ordering........ the retaliatory strike. That probably
gave him a chuckel...
"President Reagan said, "We aim to deter further Iranian aggression, not provoke it. They must know that we will protect our ships, and if they threaten us, they'll pay a price."

No incident comparisons at all. A fairer comparison would be the Hainan incident, holding of our surveillance plane by the Chinese. It was the previous incident to the latest.

OUR DISAGREEMENT ON THIS SEEMS TO BE ABOUT --"INTENT"-- as you think its simply his major mistakes and perhaps he is a dunce , while I think(actually I know) that its deliberate and this intentional.
His deliberate insulting and alienating so many of our allies in conjunction with those actions points to the correctness of my judgment methinks. -Tyr

Indeed. And according to the Iranian leader, their god intervened to capture these Sailors. We give them over 100 billion dollars. They still have one of our own, and they can self inspect? They get away with everything. It is awful that we have given this terrorist nation ANYTHING. Will that make us culpable when Iran unleashes on the world? I say yes
I am so ashamed of the Obama administration and the evil it is propagating This administration has gotten away with murder

I understand that. And I agree that it's leadership that counts. As far as ROE goes, I mean from the top down. I would assume if under attack one could fire back. I would also assume those fast boars could leave one of those Iranian ski boats in the dust if they ran.
I'd bet they have orders under no circumstances to engage the Iran unless they are actually fired upon especially since it was during the deal Between His Highness, the Court Jester and Satan was still in the works.

The disagreement is that it would require too many moving parts to set something like that up. Someone would talk. And if there is one thing Obama values more than America, it's his ass.

Not when the assets used are all under globalist control my friend.
I suspect that perhaps you are not aware of the massive scope of the globalist entity, and/or the viciousness which it operates IMHO.--TYR

So Globalists caused an engine malfunction and some bad navigation to send 10 sailors into Iran's territorial waters? Hmm, let me think on that.

First , you had better verify thats actually how it went down since all we have is the same government I accused feeding out the damn info to us.
Or could you not imagine that engine could have been tampered with to go down so far out?
Or that the crew aboard those boats were not hand picked to do the ops as it went down?
And maybe you think most of the special ops crew that nabbed and killed ben ladin getting was just blind luck on the part of our muslim enemies!
I'd bet a hundred spot against a damn nickel that they were set up by obama and his muslim/globalist masters.
Of course we'll never know and thats always to the government's advantage. -Tyr

Truth is, from someone who spent 30 years in the Navy, with some experience with naval, and international laws that controlled our environment. Those sailors were....much to the dismay of our Lame President, in International Waters near that Island. The entire Persian Gulf is International waters...to be more precise.
So, the Iranians who captured our sailors, and their two boats....Violated International Law, and Freedom of the Sea treaties established many years ago.
Our Lame Pretender, and his mouthpiece Kerry...also a Pretender, didn't have the courage to do anything other than PRETEND they apologized for something that needed no apology.

The whole thing stinks to high heaven just like the give away the bank Iran nuke deal.
Obama very likely set it up. As it just gave huge creds to the Iranians as a power to be
dealt with fearfully.
Sad isn't it, that this ffing traitor gets by with this and even gets praised for doing it!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: :mad::mad:-Tyr
