So wait a minute, in some places a CHILD can walk into a pharmacy and buy condoms and the pill. Women can buy the same, without permission. But men need permission from their wives? I get it, don't cheat on them, But still, has there ever been a medication in history where someone needed permission from their spouse? And it sounds like it's revenge, no less, from this idiot.

Tired of what she considers the government inserting itself into women’s private lives, a Kentucky lawmaker has decided to return the favor.

Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a Louisville Democrat, has introduced a bill that would force men who want to use erectile dysfunction drugs to jump through a series of humiliating hoops beforehand, such as visiting a doctor twice and getting notes from their wives.

“I want to protect these men from themselves,” Marzian, who is a nurse, told the Courier-Journal.

“This is about family values,” she added.

Mazian told Fox affiliate WDRB that House Bill 396 would also require that someone seeking Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Avanafil “make a sworn statement with his hand on a Bible that he will only use a prescription for a drug for erectile dysfunction when having sexual relations with his current spouse.”

“I started thinking, ‘How would this body of men feel if the government was injecting [itself] into their private medical decisions,’ ” she added.

Marzian’s proposal arrives a week after Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin (R) signed a bill requiring women to consult with a doctor at least 24 hours before an abortion, according to the Courier-Journal. The “informed consent” bill, as it was labeled, passed with 92 “yes” votes on Jan. 28, according to WDRB. Marzian was one of three members of the Kentucky House to vote against the law, the station noted.

I'm guessing this genius doesn't see the hypocrisy that 'his wife' or 'his girlfriends' can get an abortion without his consent?

It was a woman lawmaker, and she is mad at other bills that she sees as wrong towards women, so this is her "revenge", as I see it.

I understand it was a female, I was speaking of whom she considers 'targets' and she is sick of. What a b****!

Yeps. I wonder if she'll also sponsor a bill making it so that a woman must get permission from her husband in order to have an abortion? I know that's more or less what you wrote. :)

I had this discussion Saturday night at work. Erectile dysfunction involves an organ which is not working as nature designed, therefore should be covered by insurance. Although not as serious, it is no different from kidney, lung, or heart dysfunction, all which are covered by insurance.

Abortion is the cessation of nature as designed.

Apples and oranges.

Not when the government through a member, brings up a 'bill' to give control of a man's medical intervention to his spouse, but total control of a 'woman's body' to her.

One may argue that either should have total control or neither.

^^^^ That line in itself speaks a few billion words. Typical dem/lib dictatorial and insane reasoning proudly on display.
Adult men are not children, its no wonder that the dem/libs find it so easy to treat blacks(adult men and women) as helpless, little children and offer that vote buying, cradle to grave enslavement!
The witch that proposed this should be ran out of town, kicked out of office and soundly have her sorry and totally worthless ass stomped by some conservative and decent women IMHO.-
Where it a man proposing such stupidity I'd volunteer my services free of charge.
And no, I do not post about her stupidity because of my personal needs, as I have (not yet anyways) no need for such help..
I wanted to get that in before any of the usual morons jumped for joy and slung it at me.
I'll be 62 next month, my wife is 35-- I already have plenty of inspiration and its very, very nice to have but tis not needed to perform! I am blessed with Viking, Native American genetics in that department.
My father had a combined 17 children, by two wives, and my baby brother was born when my Dad was 62 years old. -Tyr
