Bush Campaign Sources: Campaign Out of Money. Pay Ends Saturday.By Erick Erickson (http://theresurgent.com/author/erick/) | February 18, 2016, 10:58am

This is pretty remarkable. Sources close to the Bush campaign are beginning to leak about a call last night. I’m told the Bush team is out of money. Pay for campaign staff will end on Saturday. The campaign is all but over.

Additionally, after having hundreds of millions of dollars on hand, the Bush Super PAC has less than $15 million from what I am being told.

What a waste.

Ironically, if Bush really wants to have an impact on the race, given that his campaign is broke, he should publicly get out of the race today. This would be like Rich Perry in 2012, who got out, cast his support to Gingrich at the last minute, and saw Gingrich storm into first place in South Carolina.

Bush could be the king maker if he gets out today.

His campaign is broke, staff is being told they will not be paid after Saturday, and Bush could shake things up significantly if he gets out now.

UPDATED: Bush campaign vehemently denies there was a call or that the campaign is out of money. I stand by the story.

Wall Street source tells me top Jebber calling donors: He will drop out unless he finishes "strong third" in South Carolina.

He spent it all in NH. For nothing.

Why waste more? He's a man out of time in this race. Time to cut bait.

I like him because he was a damned good government. But he's more like GHW than GW is. He's old-school Republican. Doesn't seem to be selling well this election.

Wow! Other than Trump, he had the largest warchest by a long shot.

I guess TV, Radio and Newspapers are the only winners with his campaign.

I doubt he's out of money. I'd guess he was willing to spend "x" amount at each place and just decided he's out for "next up". Time to assess the situation. He's too far behind, and his attempts at playing catch up have been mediocre at best.

What I don't think has been said very loudly by the MSM nor anyone else but seems rather obvious is no one wants another Bush or Clinton.

This is what the GOP is going to need, and perhaps one more. I think if they get together behind either Cruz or Rubio, then they can give Trump a run for his money. The others dropping out, it appears that the majority of the voters moved towards Trump. But I don't think that would be the case if any of the other 3 big names drop. I don't know which one would be best off, but I think they need to choose this person by March 1st, as it's going to get harder and harder after then.

This would explain his doubling down in South Carolina. He looked devastated when Nikki Haley endorsed rubio.

Yeah, that might be where we can mark it down that Bush lost. It's possible that after Saturday, without shockingly great results, he will be next.

Bush could just follow Ben Carson's lead and convert his campaign to a mail list renting operation masquerading as a presidential campaign. Keep those big paychecks flowing! Don't ditch the gravy train!
