`That’s something that can’t be disputed. Not after what happened Saturday night. He was rushed to prominence thanks to his gift for gab and larger-than-life personality, but as the fight showed, he hasn’t become a complete fighter yet.
Listen to Nate Diaz, fresh off his impressive second-round submission win over McGregor at UFC 196 (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ufc/2016/03/06/conor-mcgregor-nate-diaz-ufc-196-main-event/81393452/), sitting with the Fox Sports 1 crew talking about his career journey while also preaching truth about McGregor’s meteoric rise.`..
“I’ve been fighting 12 years as a martial artist,” Diaz said. “Like, just knowing … seeing (the UFC) push this guy. That guy’s a good fighter and everything, but he’s where he’s at because of the push he’s getting, you know what I’m saying? I’ve put in a lot of work, and there ain’t no push. So I’m gonna take that (expletive) and make it mine, you know what I’m saying? I know I’m a better fighter than him. They weren’t gonna give me no full camp for this guy. They’re gonna try to do whatever they can to bring him back to the top. I knew I was better than him. …"

I know some here enjoy fighting, but I will never understand doing it for a hobby/living.

Too much mouth , not enough muscle and grit.
I bet my buddy 20 bucks he'd lose to Nate...
I know my fighters!!
Easy 20 bucks, I tried for 50 dollars but he declined that as too big a bet for him to agree! lol

I could make lots of money on these MMA fights but I swore off my gambling.
MADE THIS ONE EXCEPTION AND MY WIFE AGREED THAT I COULD AS I TOLD HERE IT WAS A SURE THING BETTING ON NATE.
FUNNY,SHE AGREED IF I SPLIT THE WIN WITH HER ! :)--Tyr

McGregor is awesome! He whooped Diaz's ass for the majority of the fight, then it appeared he started losing some steam, and the bloodied Diaz didn't and was able to choke him out from behind. I give Diaz a LOT of credit, that dude just coming back and coming back - and Conor hit him with some lefts that should have at least put him to his knees, but he took them. 2 really good fighters!!

Correctamundo, Rich. I just don't know if you're being a snide ass or not. One thing I'm major slow at is I take people at their words. That and being on the net don't go well together. I can fight. I can play basketball, football, shoot. What I can't do is outthink liars until I know they're lying (that is NOT pointed at you, LTG -- general statement). I ran 2 boards over about 8 years and I never knew y'all have your own private little worlds behind the scenes until after I quit being in charge.

Why can't people just be honest? Want a fight? I'll kick your ass or die trying. Want a algebra contest? I concede. We don't even need to go through the motions of getting started. For someone as good at simple math as I am I have NEVER been able to figure that illogical crap out. We ain't getting into a hair growing contest either.

And you'd need a BIG paycheck to put me in the ring with that knucklehead. If I couldn't take him out in 5 seconds it'd be over for me. I just don't get it. I'm an enlisted Marine. My brother thinks he's the second coming of Douglas MacArthur and he couldn't lead me as a wetback over the Rio.

What I guess I don't get is why people have to feel the need to impress others by lying their asses off. And trust me, I ain't bragging. I've been screwed over more times for trusting people I shouldn't have than you can a stick at.

We're all good at something.
