After posting a few Ali pics from Easter, realized some folks read the beginning, rather than last posts. ;) Ali is nearly a year and half now! Jack is a bit over 1. Just got a pic of Ali's first haircut, (a bit early IMO, but still so cute!)

Alison! She's a she! LOL! Jack is 4 months younger, on his 3rd or 4th haircut now. In our family it seems the boys get the hair from birth.

First off, daughter is very good about healthy snacks for the most part. She does however follow her mom when it comes to baking. Seems she asked Ali, "what kind of cupcakes should we bake?" Ali responded, "Lemon!" LOL! My girls!

Lemon with raspberry frosting:

I noticed that Ali had on shoes, a rarity at parks when I visited. Kendall said that is because she was too busy eating! They were at play date with mom's neighborhood friends at local park:

What's the fun of being a grandma? Buying toys again! Ali's birthday is 8/30 and I was making a list on Amazon. Just got a notification that one of the top picks is 50% off, so called the darling daughter and she'll hide her presents until her birthday! While I wish I could be there, it's kinda cool to be able to shop and then watch via Skype.

A trampoline and a soft pogo stick!

It's Ali's Birthday! Two years old! Called her just before 8 this morning, she answered the phone! "Love you Grandma Kathy! I love bouncing on my trampoline, thank you!" Best morning call, ever!

I'll get her 'birthday picture later.'

So the kid gets bit by the cat. Nice one too. Perfect 4-pointer to the gums in her bicep. Cat's don't go in bathtubs, Hannah, you goof. Naturally, it gets infected. So chip off grandpa's block proceeds to terrorize the ER. If the sideways looks from my daughter at me could kill!

She's like, it's your turn. I had to but up with this crap with you last month. Sorry. I'm crippled and you won't even let me go out the door without this stupid cane. :)

Meanwhile granddaughter proceeds to remove one of her IVs and is bitching her ass off at the nurse. She HAD a room for the night, but that got revised to sent home in mom's care.

Only reason I didn't get kicked is because Ash was afraid she'd knock me down.

Downside: 40 minute ride home trapped in car with irate daughter discussing my genetics.

Got to admit, Christmas with little ones is the best. Well in my case, Christmas and Hanukkah!

I was gathering a shopping list for both the grandkids. Ali is older and I know her better, she talks a lot on the phone. LOL! Even back in June she was very verbal and bossy, "Grandma, you color with me, now!" "Grandma, THIS book and make the animal sounds!" Like her mom, pretty musical, already plays a few songs on the piano, though she can't reach the pedals. ;) Her mom took her first lessons on the drum, kept with them and piano through 8th grade. Added violin in High School.

One of the presents on Ali's list was a 'pink drum set,' though I just wasn't sure. Today her mom said she asked for drum sticks. Decision made. So, she's getting:

Now Jack won't be 2 until February. He's very active and loves trains. What's funny is that I always remember Kendall's toys to be more expensive than the boys. I already had bought Ali the trampoline for her 2nd birthday, Jack loves it!

and for my little conductor, (they stopped making Brio I think. :( )

Grandkids are awesome. Spending time with the two grandsons teaching them to shoot (bow and rifle) is too cool. They are 8 and 6 and all boy. Dancing with the granddaughters and teaching the youngest (5) to play chess (at her request) is just as cool. The older granddaughters are too busy with life to pay much attention to Grandpa...

What a Scrooge. Pffft. I get them every toy I think I ..errr... they need. We got Hot Wheels up the gazoo here. My youngest granddaughter is a total redneck. John Deere and Tonka trucks everywhere.

It only sucks to go shopping if you're trying to find something. Wandering aimlessly watching people like you on the hunt is priceless. :poke: I did once get into it over a Mutant Turtle because I got the last one and some woman thought she was just going to take it from me. THAT was a Kodak moment. I still had hair back then.

I do, but agree that mental health checkup is in order! LOL! Talked to my brother today, he asked if, "February is on"? "Oh yeah!" "You're coming to AZ in April, right?" "Yes. P was just checking airfares, right now it looks about $250 roundtrip. What did you pay for Feb?" "$135 roundtrip. Not a lot of demand to go into Chicago in February." "No shit!" LOL!
