Really is simple as "Here's the car for two weeks. Enjoy!" :)

Great review, but I'm still not gonna buy one!

As they arent for sale in north america, might be good! :-)

I wont buy one because I hate thinking of spending more than about $20,000 on a car. Ever. I paid $25,500 out the door for my rx8 back in 2004. Last new car for me, ever. When i go shopping again i'm looking at $10-15k max.

My minivan days ended a year & a half ago when I sold mine.

I agree on the buying used whole heart idl.y My last new car was in 1996 for a Eagle Talon TSI AWD. After that I decided to let others suck up the depreciation and bought low mileage cars two years old or less while taking my time and bought privately with circumstances in my favor.

My last four purchases in reverse order:

2008 Kia Sedona, in 2009- 1,700 miles- Older couple, husband died.

2004 Ford Ranger XLT in 2013-47,000 miles- kid joined the Marines.

2006 Mazda speed6 GT in 2008-14,000 miles- woman that got tired of manual tranny.

2002 Chevy Camaro SS in 2004-9,000 miles- Person need the money for 1st home buy & had to sell on really short notice. Deal on house fell thru

I like it! Ten years old now with 48,000 miles. Very nice interior, 30% stiffer than a regular 6, and pulls pretty good with the turbo above 3k rpm. I drove the STI & Evo and the Evo was nicer than the Subi, but could I really be driving a car with big ass spoilers well into my late 60's? The Speed6 was described in a review as " an STI for older drivers", hey that's me! Had it in for it's 1st repair last week, the safety recall for the air bag switch.

Love it!

I was heavily considering the Speed6 back in 2008. I opted for a Legacy GT Spec.B for two reasons: Aftermarket support AND a 50-50 awd system vs the primarily fwd mazda version.

When I sold the Leggy I had replaced the turbo with a 2008 WRX turbo (VF52) @ ~24psi, 740cc injectors, and AVO TMIC. Running against about a 2013? Camaro SS I stayed half-car-length ahead of him up to 125mph - before I lifted. :D

In 2004 I bought a RX8 actually - it's on coilovers with RPF1s wrapped in 285/30/18s. I think they are 285s. It's been awhile. It's garaged in MI while I'm here.

When my home in MI sells and I buy another car here I'm considering a mazdaspeed3. Now I really don't like FWD for performance cars, but it has the looks and power and utility I like. :)
