I find it laughable as Hell if the lefties weren't so damned stupid about it. When I was stationed in DC, they had this SERIOUS campaign to change the Washington Bullets' name because "bullets" was a gang-related term. :slap: Thus, the Wizards. One of the other entries of choice was "Sea Dragons".

I live in SW and guess what the indians around here call themselves? Indians. Only PC goofballs and those with a political agenda who have probably never met one call them "Native American".

Can't wait for all those bottle-nose porpoises (they actually are NOT dolphin) to raise up and demand Miami change the name of their team.

This issue over the team's name is nothing but a bunch of butt-hurt PC'ers whining
because a word hurts their feelings. The Oneida (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oneida_people) tribe of the Iroquois Confederation
is one of the driving forces in this. But largely ignored is that many other tribes and
bands do not worry over it. Others outside who pipe up and complain of racism are
usually terminal provokers anyway. The Oneida are known for their butt-hurt complaints.

I am part Seneca, and the term Redskin does not bother me one iota! Seneca is
part of that Iroquois Confederation, yet you do not hear the other tribes complaining.
I do not view it as racist whatsoever...only a weakling would.

The name was created to honor the Native Tribes...nothing short of that.
The Sioux approved the Washington Redskins logo, and the are far stronger
than the Oneida Tribe.

This present Liberal establishment seeks to quash any and all references to
terms they do not understand. Why do they let blacks call each other Nigger,
but for a white person to do that is a racist sin?

I'm going to petition the court to change our national symbol. I'm bald and am offended by the descriptor used on a bird that actually is not bald. :laugh2:

Ben Franklin urged that the Wild Turkey be our national symbol! Can you imagine that in this day and age?
"Hey, You Turkeys'!"

Eagles and other raptors have been used globally as national symbols as well as on Coats of Arms,
even for a family name.

Getting offended over a simple team name word is nothing more than showing one
cannot take such things as water off a duck's back.

If they changed their logo to a potato they could keep the name and maybe nobody would be upset.

I'd LOVE it if they changed their name to the Washington Bullets. :)

That was the original name of the Baltimore Bullets. Then they moved to DC. Then they decided being called the Bullets wasn't PC enough.

And no offense but get rid of that stupid avatar, please. It disgusts me just to look at one of your posts.

Yes. And if I owned the Washington Wizards I would call myself the Grand Wizard.
