I thought he had a hairball. He would make that noise like he's trying to get rid of one. So while at the vet yesterday I asked them to check it out. First she did the stethoscope, then did an x-ray. His bronchial stuff was all inflamed.

She sent me home with some prednisone for him, or however you spell it. But the funny part? He will be taking the breathing treatments like any other asthma patient! I have to get those nebulizer thingies, and put it into a special mask and have him breath it a few times per day. That should be REAL easy. And it's expensive, so they will be sending a prescription every few months to damn Canada to get it, since it's apparently much cheaper up there.

Another damn $500 at the vet. Why do I pick out animals that need so much damn financial assistance????

He will be getting this:

Sorry! I am sure he will love it when he sees that coming.

I'm thinking it may not be so bad the first time. But after that? Who knows how he'll react!! He is SO kind about everything else, such a good cat, so maybe I'll get lucky.

Should have seen him at the vet, he acted like the vet was his owner, even after getting a shot! He was purring and climbing. They absolutely love him there, never hisses or brings out his claws. The little dummy even wants to go see the dogs!!

Funny fact - Porter was there the day before and weighs 10lbs. The kitty who torments him is 12lbs. :)

A cat with asthma? Weird, didn't know they got that.

I hope he's declawed? I think mine would leave you looking like Taz worked you over if you tried to use a mask & inhaler on her.

Did you ever have to use a nebulizer on your daughter? Kids hate them! We'd both be crying. :(

Nope, he still has all of them! But he never brings them out unless I turn him upside down and mess with his belly, and even then it's only to play aggressively.

It's not really a mask in addition, it's all one part. So you just kinda push it up against the face, fill the chamber quickly and let him grab a puff or 2. I'm sure he won't be pleased - but maybe if he feels it helping?

Man, I really don't know.

I think in the middle of a asthma attack and you come running over to shove that on his face and trigger the blast that he's going to go Batshit Mode on you.

Can you video the encounter for us?

Will do!! In fact, I'll have the woman do it while I "help". This way if anything goes down, we can all enjoy the video.

I'm not a cat person, though they are a hell of a lot better than fish! LOL! Still hate to see any animal having trouble with breathing!

Then on two counts, fishing is obviously not for you!

Here is Mr. Evil just now. He chases me into my room, steals some treats from me... and then just behind him there on that table is my fish tank, and every day now he comes in to try and eat them!
