the battle of midway begins. humiliated from the Doolittle raid 2 mons earlier the Japs realize missing our carriers at Pearl Harbor comes back to bite them on the ass. so they devise an attack plan close to Pearl at midway to draw our remaining carriers out and send em to the bottom - but there's always the unexpected. hell is on the wing

WE HAD BROKE THEIR NAVAL CODES AND USED THAT INFO TO OUR BEST ADVANTAGE.

They fully deserved every thing they got--including two cities nuked...-Tyr

Our superiority was our pilots. And luck. Those Devastators and Wildcats were actually no match for the Japs. We got lucky. And the Navy pilots had balls of steel. They flew into certain death and didn't flinch.

plus we rotated our pilots back home to train rookies. the Japs didn't and lost the cream of the crop in this and other battles

The Japs should have just gone home and committed seppuku then and there. We're on our heels, with patched up ships, flying Model T's, and we wiped out their carrier fleet. Brilliant strategy there, Tojo. Dumbass. And for WHAT? A rock. Midway is nowhere and worth nothing. It may have put them closer, but not withing striking distance of anything. They should have been more concerned about protecting their fleet than some dumb rock in the middle of nowhere.

I guess they didn't get the memo on the Yorktown.

well in this case pal that rock did have value. check the map. the Japs chose it cause it was close to Hawaii. it also had an air strip. and from there they were gonna launch an invasion force to Hawaii. then invade the US coast. if they have brought one along with the Pearl Harbor raid Hawaii was theirs anyway. dumb fucks. they never followed up with a knock out blow. turn tail and head for home. this defeat at Midway was kept secret. no one back home knew about it. the Doolittle raid plus Midway bought us the time we needed back home to load our boxing gloves with horse shoes and do some serious broken field running.

we lost the Yorktown. Jap sub got her.
