So it's been in place for what, like 2-3 weeks now? What does everyone think of it so far?

The one thing I would like to change is being notified for YOUR OWN thanks when you give one to another person. You'll have 4 notifications, for example, and 2 of them are from when you thanked someone yourself.

The only way to get rid of this is to pay and upgrade to the Pro version. No point though if y'all hate it!! But I have no issue at all doing so if everyone thinks its good for the community and useful/fun.

So, thoughts, shall we upgrade?

This post has been here for 12 days now, barely any views and ZERO responses.

An issue came up about deleting a thanks that was accidentally given out. This can only be done in the Pro version. Being notified and receiving notifications of thanks - and even your OWN thanks - but I can only disable that with the Pro version.

Assuming the upgrade involves paying more $$, I'd say don't spend the money, it's fine.

Yeah, I'm with Abbey. It's just not worth the $. I don't like seeing my own thanks given, but I got a head to shave, a lawn to mow, dishes to wash, a baby to sit and a garden to take care of. I ain't all that worried about the thanks system. It's not THAT important. It's kind of the point to the system, right?

I remember when the rep system was the biggest headache in the world. And people took that crap personally. I say we just go with what we have. You can spend your coin getting Alien out of your chest.

If DP has a "thanks" system, why not a "that's f-ing stupid!" one as well? I am sure it would see a lot of use.

Something like $80 - BUT - if folks truly like it, I wouldn't mind paying it. It's one of the add-ons that is used literally on every other post, if not more.

I use it. I like it better than the rep system. Used to drive me nuts. But no one's speaking up, so who knows what people like? Doesn't matter to me. I'm not an admin. That's why I referred the issue to y'all. I don't have access to that if I wanted to do something. And I ain't complaining. I'm fat, dumb n happy where I am.

Just for clarification though since you DID change the thanks system ... don't we still have the option to remove thanks as users? I really haven't looked. I'm as blind as a bat as you are. And I've never removed a thanks and I don't neg people. I'm just weird like that.

Yeah but Jim likes feedback. I hate to say anything nice about him. His head'll get bigger than it already is. But he is very democratic about things and he tries to please everyone. Hard to do without feedback.

Just to get my heat back, y'all f*ckers ain't worth $20 to me, much less $80.

Your board bud, I just post here...

Only in my name. The board is a community, as far as I'm concerned, and I only help with what we ALL want.

I am fine with whatever you are comfortable with, Jim.

I owned one (a board) once, and not being very techie,
it was a pain for me to make changes.

Hey I don't know about the other two, but the mind seems fine! ;)

I can't remember stuff anymore...

Because you save it for what's important.

I'm sort of joking, but the truth is that when one is young, so many things seem important. By our age, one knows that some things are important and need to be remembered-like where are my glasses? and some can be looked up! I'm good with that!

I think it's fine the way it is, Jim. No issues here.

I think its fine the way it is but if you decide to upgrade let me know. I'll kick in a $20.

I hand out a lot of thanks because I appreciate thoughtful responses even when I don't totally agree.

Well .. according to my screen, I currently have 5,300 'thanks'. Which is nice ...

From a purely practical standpoint, this version of your 'thanks' facility seems unusable .. unless, of course, I truly have just earned myself 5,300 'thanks' .. ? Anyway, it's good for the ego .. if precious little else .. personally, I'm driven to ignoring it altogether.

I had the same problem. Go to recent thanks Open up your last thanks, then close it. The numbers should reset back to zero.

I can't say I'm fond of my own thanks given out showing now, but it's hardly any big deal. If this dumbass computer is so damned smart, you'd think it would know I already know who I thanked.
