111-117?????????????????????????? That is absolutely INSANE!!! I hope you have great AC and that it never breaks!! What happens if that breaks? I would be dead within a few hours!!

I start melting at like 95 or so. I couldn't imagine being outside at 117. Hell, I can't even imagine those living there go out much when it goes that damn high.

I don't even want to think about Phoenix! OMG! This is really unusual. Actually have two air conditioners here, one is a backup. ;) If all goes well, I won't care after Tuesday, i'll be out of it. Another silver lining!

Now Flagstaff and Sedona aren't under the warning and I work in Sedona! They aren't going to 100, Flagstaff will be in the 80's. If I wasn't going to be out of it, I'd head there.

You live in AZ princess. Works that way, It's weird here in NM because we're 3000+ above sea level. It's killing my skin. No humidity. I have to basically bathe in lotion or I look like a mummy.

Princess? PRINCESS?!? I am the Queen!

We're at about 3k here too! Sedona at 4500, Flagg at I think 6-9k. Big difference in temps. All dry, it's the desert.

I spent 4 years in 29 Palms, CA. I know the difference. I think age might have a bit to do with it as well. Not to mention I've almost always lived in high humidity and close to sea level. My body's not real happy with this place, :)

I hear you about 'dry skin/hair', well you don't have the hair problem. ;) I'm basically a greased pig here at night, doused in lotion. I now shower 2 times a week, as opposed to IL which was daily, sometimes twice in the summer.

Yeah...I'm afraid that I couldn't handle that kind of heat. It's hot enough here in Dallas (90 already today). I dream of living some place where the high temps never get above 85 and the low never gets below 30. Unfortunately, most all of those places are controlled and over-run by leftists or commies. Dammit.

I would have several window ACs throughout my house. Hell, they can't all break down at the same time.

Here is a good link to up to date NOAA weather forecasts. Just search for the largest
city close to you and you will find something close to your locale:

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/

You can use the map to zoom in and click,
or search for the specific locale in the top left corner.

The heat isn't what's bad. I hate to sound cliche but it IS the humidity combined with the heat that makes it bad. It would be 115 during the day in 29 Palms and it didn't phase me. It can be 90 in SA and you're dying. They claim it's hot here (you should hear them whine) and I'm like WTF? 90 degrees and no humidity? That ain't crap. Try 101 degrees and 95% humidity. That will learn ya a lesson.

Until I moved here,I never knew anyone with 2 central ac units with homes smaller than 3500 sq ft. Here it's not unusual. A spare, if you will.
