View Full Version : Obama starts press conference with the usual lie: "Our immigration system is broken"

Our immigration system is a set of laws passed long ago by Congress and signed by the President of that time. One of the things it says is that no foreigner can enter the U.S. without a visa. And it provides for deportation of those who try. Nothing "broken" about that.

All that's remaining, is for the Executive department to do what the law says.

And that's where the problems lie. Not with the system, but with the lack of willingness of the Executive to carry out his duties: To uphold, enforce, and obey the laws of the United State. Including that one.

Many Presidents have failed to enforce that law, the latest being Obama. They have let more and more illegal aliens come into the country, and done little or nothing about it. The result by now, is a huge body of millions of illegal aliens living in this country in defiance of the law. Or, for those who actually do get caught and deported, a simple repeat trip to the border and an easy walk back in, again breaking our laws.

Don't offer some mealy-mouthed excuse like "The system is broken". The system is clear, straightforward, and reasonable. If we only did what it said, we wouldn't have a problem today.

And... Congress made the laws. Congress can change or repeal them. But it has largely refused to do that, which is its prerogative.

But now we have a President who has actually issued "Executive Orders" that directly violate the laws of the U.S., instead of the normal action of issuing E.O.'s that will help carry out the laws.

To offer disingenuous falsehoods like "Well, the system is broken" is the height of cupidity. The system is fine. To have a President who decides that he won't obey Federal laws he doesn't like, is like a bank having a guard who, instead of defending the bank and capturing bank robbers who try to rob it, simply opens the vault for them and let them take the money all they want.

The first solution to the problem is, obviously, to fire the guard who does that, and replace him with a different guard.

Next part of the solution is to get a stronger vault, maybe one that the guards can't open unless the Board of Directors give permission in each case.

But to say "The system is broken" is like saying that, since robbers keep taking money from the vault, the Board has to change its rules and allow more robbers to steal the money, and let them keep it after they do.

Our immigration system (on paper) is just fine. The problem is that we haven't obeyed it ourselves, and haven't been keeping out foreigners who don't have visas.

What we don't need now, is to announce that the millions of robbers who have stolen money, can keep it all and we won't pursue them and penalize than as the laws clearly say.

No, the first thing we need to do, is fire the present guard. And get a new one who will penalize those who have broken the laws, and take whatever measures are needed to prevent more illegals from breaking them any more.

Someone finally said no to him and he can't handle it. He's not used to hearing the word.

Well Stated Little-Acorn!

And this phrase is paraphrasing EXACTLY what is in his Oath of Office:

willingness of the Executive to carry out his duties: To uphold, enforce, and obey the laws of the United States.

I.E. To Support and Defend the Constitution of The United States! That is our LAWS and the US CFR is recognized
as being the in-depth clarification of them.

This Executive is unwilling to obey his Oath.

The reason that the system is broken is that it has been abused and ignored for decades. Administrations of both parties have tried to avoid the issue and pretend it doesn't exist. So now the system is not only broken, it is irreparable.

Simple answer...him getting off his ass and enforce what exists.
Same damn thing with 'Gun Laws' - enforce what exists!

Yes..things have been glossed over for decades on both, but HE is in
the seat, not any of his predecessors! The ball is in his court, but he wants
to kick it back without doing his sworn job.

How about a woman's right to choose? Can we enforce what exists on that as well? Without constantly trying to change it?

Sounds good. In fact , suck those babies brains out. And if a baby survives an abortion, get Obama on the phone at White House. He will let the baby suffocate by executive order.

I do not see anything in the Constitution or CFR that deals with that issue.

I do not believe in abortion except in certain extremes. Killing a fetus for convenience only,
is a SIN.

Already refuted in the OP.

So now the system is not only broken, it is irreparable.
Already described in the OP, how to fix what's "broken".

Another useless post by gabby.

Can or should an Admin merge them?

They need to re=label this idiot's crap as a soap opera instead of press conference. He spends more time whining on the tube than General Hospital. :blah:

Obama claims the system is broken because it doesn't allow him to do what he wants. Hmmm .... maybe the system is working just fine after all.

Way I see it, Sergeant Major, if the system was working, he'd have been shut down by Congress LONG ago.

Clearly, Congress shutting down Obama would require for one or two of those pukes in the House and Senate to have a pair of balls. Apparently, there are no balls to be found in either of those two august institutions.

Compare that to what they did to Andrew Johnson.
