Not exactly a day to be remembered 'fondly', I suggest.

Nonetheless ... those bombs had to be dropped. Their intervention ended a war, and in the longer term very probably saved more lives than were destroyed by them.

Actually it did slip by. The Bomb was dropped 71 years and one day before this thread was opened.

It was dropped on Aug. 6 Japan time... which was Aug. 5 in the U.S.

If you want to hit the anniversary right on, you should post on Aug. 6 Japan time, not Aug. 6 U.S. time.
