This brought a tear to my eye, and apparently everyone in attendance. I feel gay. :(
Usually, the father of the bride would talk about his daughter and her life with her new husband during the wedding reception. But Nicole Cortez's dad did something different.
It's one of the most amazing wedding gifts. Dad gets up on stage and sings "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. Nicole said, At my wedding reception my dad surprises my new husband and I by signing a beautiful song. I am a sign language interpreter so this meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song. Yep, he spent a whole year practicing to sing this for his daughter.
