here's where things stand in relation to Russia and somewhat less, China.

Obama has eschewed intervention/involvement in foreign conflicts-choosing to use his 'exceptional diplomatic skills' like the Iran agreement. He definitely is against any 'nation building' along the lines of what Bush had begun in Iran and Afghanistan. There's no sign of change from anyone currently up for election, expect more of the same:

Obama fully intended to reduce US influence across the globe. He has succeeded. This country will never be in the position it once was thanks to his brilliant execution of a plan designed to make the US a third world nation.

Indeed. The lesson learned from his 'success' is more of the same from all candidates, including the third parties.
