I absolutely HATE when I see entertainers getting involved in the political process. And it sucks even more when its someone who I truly liked, because then now I can't like them as much anymore. But hell, I know you kinda have a podium now with your success, but please, use it to further YOUR entertainment, you scumbags, I don't want to hear any of your political agendas!!!

Bon Jovi was my favorite band growing up. Free tickets because Tico Torres, the drummer, lived on the same street as me. Everything about them was great in the 80's!!. But then I started getting older and started paying more attention to the political process, and there you have it and John Bongiovi was hosting political events for the democrats at his mansion, and for Hillary, and is still big on helping her at every turn. Damn dirtbag!! LOL

I posted along these lines on FB 4 years ago. I was so sick of everyone telling us when Election Day is, and how we really, really need to vote.

Like it or not, more people put their faith in celebrities than politicians.

Not that I want to see political campaigning at concerts. I don't care if it is Ted Nugent or Bruce Springsteen. I pay to hear them play music, not give political speeches.

Actors have the right to say whatever they want politically and religiously.
doesn't mean they are right.
If they want to speck out fine. make commercials, whatever. no problem.

but here again both the left and right use celebrities to promote their views.
And both sides tend to get get butt hurt when they do.

Charlton Heston speaking on Gun Rights. anyone here ever have problem with that?
Clint Eastwood on conservative issues. Most to the country western singers are conservative and many are doing a lot of flag waving at concerts.
Arnold Swartzinegger on conservative issues. heck he even became Governor largely based off of his celebrity. Jesse Ventura as well. Not to mention Reagan was an "actor" of sorts. For decades he was a spokesperson for conservative views. Today Chuck Norris is all over the place promoting conservative social issues and candidates. I see very few people wishing he'd shut up because he's just an actor.
People only seem to get upset when celebrities disagree with their own political views.

the celebrities on the left get a lot of cover from the industries they are in. Since those industries tend to have a LOT of leftist from the Top down.
I've read that those on the right often find it difficult to navigate the business. And have even been blackballed for holding views or speaking publicly in ways that the bosses/entertainment culture didn't like. But on the other hand those celebrities that have vocal left leaning views are attacked more by the conservative populous and conservative pundits.
When the Dixie Chicks went Anti-War it was really ugly the way their "Fans" responded. But I suspect if they had waved the flag and thanked president Bush for protecting the country those same fans that wanted them to "shut up and sing" would have praised them for being so brave and supporting the president.

Bottom line, for better or worse celebrities do have a public stage and are easy targets no matter how they use it.


BTW isn't Donald Trump also TV personality?

I liked John Denver's music and ballads, so I went to see him at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
Between every song he got into a mini-rant over his political views.

I got up and left. I didn't go there to be preached to.

Rev .... I don't care if the celebrity is leaning left or right it really bothers me when they talk to us like we are idiots .... and I find that liberal, progressive actors do that in greater numbers than conservative ones.

Spokespersons for NRA are just reminding us of the 2nd Amendment ... not chastising us for not going out and buying a gun.

The logic doesn't really follow through from 'hey capitalism helped you, so there must be something right about the concept, why do you want to change it'. Firstly you don't know how the socialist policies they're supporting helped them in life, and secondly if you substitute another political system in (say dictatorship, and an outspoken dictators son wanting democracy) the claim of 'hey dictatorship helped you, so there must be something right about the concept, why do you want to change it' isn't as flashy.

Apprently I missed something, but regardless, if people thought it would stop Clinton getting into office I think many would consider it acceptable from conservative supporters.
