Read your history. Look back at the rhetoric of the day, Trump's rhetoric is more closely echoing that of Hitler and Mussolini than either Obama or Clinton, mostly because they have never set foot on that dark path. But then, as has been repeatedly demonstrated by the right wing-nutters here, neither history, nor fact, nor reason, nor rationality have any place in the right wing politics in this country...in this time.

Read what a Holocaust survivor and history teacher has to say. For a more in depth analysis, look to Richard J. Evans' excellent three volume history of the Third Reich, starting with "The Coming of the Third Reich".

Just search quotes from Hitler's speeches and compare them to the rhetoric from Trump's speeches. When Trump pronounced...several times and with messianic certainty...that "I alone" can solve America's problems you hear that echo. It's a chilling echo, and a vision which you and your fellow travelers willingly embrace.

The ignorance of history displayed in those comparisons of Obama, and now Clinton, to Hitler, is simply breathtaking in its scope and depth. But that is par for the course here.

Except that Hitler and Mussolini were decidedly on the left. trump's rhetoric is more Wilson at this point, throw in some economic Hooverism and pompous LBJism and you've got a "winning" trifecta.

Don't know what alternate version of history you're reading from...Hitler and Mussolini were both right-wing fascists who used saw liberal democracies as irrelevancies, and the state needed to be united under one party rule with a strong-man leader. They arose from a leftist ideology but, with time, they moved towards their own particular interpretations of fascism. Trump's rhetoric follows a similar fascist vein, although probably not intentionally, given his boorishness and general level of political ignorance.

You tell me I'm wrong while at the same time agreeing with me. Not quite sure how you square that but they were both about allegiance to the State which is nowhere close to a "right" ideology. I won't defend trump's rhetoric but it's not proof of fascism as right wing because trump isn't right wing to begin with.
