While I made no secret of my horror and disappointment with BOTH the major party candidates. i did want to take a moment and congratulate Trump and his supporters here on your victory.

I Hope and pray the best for the country.
I'm very curious what God will do here.

I'd respectfully suggest that He has no need to intervene. Donald Trump did win, after all ---

But your post was a pleasure to read. I'm in a VERY upbeat mood today !!

Drummond while i think i get your sentiment, but I have to respectfully reply that If God didn't allow and or arrange for Trump to win he wouldn't have. The same for Obama and Churchill and Reagan, Stalin, Caesar etc etc ..

God is intimately involved in all things in the universe. He intervenes in everyones affairs moment by moment.. whether we are aware or acknowledge it or not.

I don't mean to preach here BUT...

In the book of Daniel , chap 4 there's the account of the Nebuchadnezzer of Babylon.
He was the Caesar - Genghis Khan of the time and region, Persia and the Middle East.

When he was near the height of his powers and at peace in his kingdom he was warned about pride by the prophet Daniel... but this happened anyway.
28 . ....as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”
Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times (years) will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.”

Make no mistake God is in control.

If I believed you, I'd have to conclude that there is no such thing as free will. Which is as good a way as any for suggesting that individual effort and enterprise has no real meaning.

Such a conclusion, if believed (much less TRUE) would open the floodgates, conceptually speaking, for accepting Socialist tyranny. Is that what you had in mind ?

.. H'mm .. ?

Socialists seek to govern, control, everyone's thinking. It's the nature of the beast. Conservatism has the value of the individual at its core. What you're saying, in effect, is that the underpinning conception of what drives that Conservative philosophy is just an illusion.

Either we have free will, or we don't. I say ... it was exercised when Trump was elected. Prove otherwise if you can!!!
