Well, dunno, just cruising around and saw it on another forum I was visiting. Thought I would try it out and see if I could be the next Rockefeller or Trump!! But nah, the reason I chose this new one - the old is really just a graphic that pointed to Paypal using my email address. This one has a shitload of other options that are more helpful. I wish it were more like 8"x" or so, but not sure how or if it's possible.

I could see running a technical message board, you could manage it to contribute to your career and others that care to join you on the same path. Also want to add - while I think those valuation sites suck, and laughed at Gabby's guestimate - I DO NOT think this joint is worth a lot of cash, IMO. There are various reasons that one could sell at a decent value, and some will buy at such prices. I have zero desire to ever sell. And if I ever grow tired, it'll be going to someone trusted, a gift if you will, just to keep things going and "as-is". It really doesn't make jack shit as far as ads go that Gabby pointed to. It's far from a moneymaker!! :) And it's easy to keep running forever. :) :) The costs I believe everyone knows - renew the domain name, which I generally do for 2 years at a time. I also pay extra to keep the domain registry private. Yes, you have to pay extra to do that!! Folks will look up ownership and the stalking starts!! LOL And in addition to the domain name, we have a $20 monthly hosting fee. It COULD be much much cheaper on a "shared" hosting plan that most places use, but you guys remember issues in the past, and I have us on a semi-dedicated server for better performance. Then the occasional fee for any software, software upgrades or the equivalent. I don't think much more than that? So like $30 every 2 years for the "name", about $240 per year on hosting fees. In a nutshell that's really it, but sometimes I'll buy software and use it here, and then uninstall because you bastards don't care for it. And a few we do use that were long, long paid for already. But average it's like $255 per year. Generally speaking, if you look at the member names in yellow, and of course our awesome staff, a few years it probably evened out with a huge thanks to folks who donated to help keep things going. If you think I'm rich off of the Google advertising, think again. :) Let's put it this way, it doesn't make enough to cover the year. AND I offset it sometimes by using Google Adwords as well, which is an extra cost, as that's me advertising with Google. If someone were to search "political message board", we would have an advertisement off to the right, for example. Problem with that is, it can cost anywhere from $1 - $5 or so PER CLICK!!! Needless to say, Adwords is rarely used by myself. :)

And for the liberals here - just think of me as Trump running a casino. You can come in and have fun, and it looks glitzy and glamorous, but it's not a moneymaker and I may have to file for bankruptcy. :)
