LONDON—The U.S. Army deployed an armored unit with 4,000 soldiers and 90 tanks to Europe in January in a test of its ability to quickly reinforce the front lines in any possible confrontation with Russia. Getting them where they need to go, however, has been unexpectedly difficult. (Bravo!)
Several armored vehicles were damaged when they struck bridges that were lower than expected as they moved from the German port of Bremerhaven to Poland, army officers said. Five other heavy vehicles are still in Germany while the army tries to figure out how to move them east, they said.
The difficulties are a sign of the logistical and other challenges the U.S. military is facing as it works with its North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies to renew focus on Russia as a potential adversary and reassure countries on Europe’s eastern flank. Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, commander of U.S. Army forces in Europe, said the military lacks sufficiently detailed information about infrastructure in areas that were once part of the Soviet bloc (http://www.wsj.com/articles/for-former-soviet-republics-moscow-has-a-new-playbook-1484908201)and now belong to NATO. (:clap::clap:) In coming weeks, the Army plans to move tanks from Poland to other former Warsaw Pact countries.
The general said the Army needs to work to fill in the gaps so it can sharpen its ability to rapidly augment forces in Europe and maneuver them as it could during the Cold War.
“We need to re-establish the benchmark,” he said.
Speaking on the sidelines of an intelligence conference in London, Gen. Hodges also said the Army wants better intelligence on Russian troop movements. Since the end of the Cold War, he said, “watching Russian barracks and Russian assembling of railcars wasn’t a priority.”
Despite hiccups during the deployment, Gen. Hodges said the troops were ready to fight within two weeks of landing in Europe. The unit is scheduled to stay until September, when it will be rotated out and replaced by another.
Gen. Hodges said some of the unit’s tanks arrived in Europe with dead batteries, because Army personnel had forgotten the procedure to shut down electronic systems. Tanks also weren’t fully fueled. (It seems that nowadays they all became 'Gunnies' in the US Army. They are are not smart enough to recharge/replace batteries and refill tanks. http://s15.rimg.info/baca7a18d24d7b189f17e526cd526faf.gif (http://smayliki.ru/smilie-899995335.html) )
“It is stuff we used to know,” Gen. Hodges said.

Dude - that brigade would fuck some Russian military armor shit RIGHT in it's tank-pussy. Why did Putin invade and steal land from Ukraine? Because the US had no armor presence in theatre. Laugh all you like - but shows you have an infantile understand of military movements.

Calm down and breathe deeply.
You succeeded to conduct your Nazi coup in Ukraine and dismiss its legitimate president despite all the guarantees of NATO countries: France, Germany and Poland. But residents of the Republic Crimea did not like it and were not ready to live in a country you made in Ukraine. So, in a referendum held by their parliament, they decided to reunite with Russia. It was their legitimate right as THAT time the State Ukraine DID NOT EXIST. Russia satisfied the desire of citizens of the republic of Crimea.
As to fucking Russians, you'd better consult McCain and Vietnam vets. They have something to tell you. http://s.rimg.info/83d91a5b1e68c306bea5c23f9bc21630.gif (http://smayliki.ru/smilie-90186951.html)

Fortunately, there's a new Sheriff in town.

His name is Secretary of Defense James "Mad Dog" Mattis.

10. “No war is over until the enemy says it’s over. We may think it over, we may declare it over, but in fact, the enemy gets a vote.”

I'm feeling pretty confident in the team leading America as of 4 days ago. Rest assured, Balu, any shortcomings revealed by the maneuvers will be addressed, quickly.

And the U.S. Military is about to get a large upgrade all the way around.

I hope he at least knows that in Russia there is another rail-way track? Your intelligence service informed him? Or, as usual? http://s19.rimg.info/aee19e2775457d135efdf745e7d94e15.gif (http://smayliki.ru/smilie-1224821991.html)

Hodges is a bad ass. Highly capable. Russia can barely keep their supply systems up and running.

The was a similar report from Friedrich-Werner Erdmann Matthias Johann Bernhard Erich Graf von der Schulenburg somewhere in 1940. A bit later it appeared that he had been mistaken.

This guy's a clown. Marines and Navy go in first and wait on the Army to show up. And if he thinks there are no Marines and Navy people watching their every move, he needs to think again. Stick 2000 people on a boat for months and wonder why they're so pissed off when they finally get off and have something to take it out on. That's one of those "good luck with that" moments.

Except in this case. :) This bde will be a deterrent. If navy ever played would be via air and tactical missile, etc. This is a return to force-on-force capability...clink-clank I'm a Tank...

The US Navy can destroy the entire world all by itself. And we neither confirm nor deny that we have nuclear weapons on every damned sub we own. Draw your own conclusion.

Getting into a limited tactical engagement with Russia would be stupid and end nowhere. Now if you want to talk thurmonuclear global war ... nobody wins that one either. It would pretty much wipe humans off the map.

Putin is pushing the edge because we've moved our attention from Eastern Europe.
