Living Blinds Us To The Coming Vanishing

Long back, I should have seen it vanishing
like a lone fragile leaf in a whirlwind.
Now, forgotten fort that is banishing
last vestiges of time before my end.

Long back, I should have seen it vanishing.

Seen, first time man's fateful reality
footsteps washed away by slow surging tides.
Yes, its the darkness in finality
Added to long nightmares, where deep-fear hides.

Long back, I should have seen it vanishing.

No more blindness, life takes more than it gives
time arrives when shadows flee far away.
Imagine, world where everybody lives
THAT IS WHERE MY SPIRIT NOW WANTS TO PLAY.

Long back, I should have seen it vanishing.

How blind we are in our vacant sleep walk
following paths that lead into abyss.
Where blindness rules and old souls dare not talk
deeper sleeping, everything we will miss.

Long back, I should have seen it vanishing.

Note: He asked about why we must all die. The wise old man smiled and said.
Look up at that wondrous and beautiful blue sky.
If you see it, then you aren't dead!
Then the young man smiled and he knew that he knew..
Even the wise old man was blind, blind as a bat too!

The Game

Jagged daggers of silence permeate the air.
Constant ringing pulsating in my ear,
Holding my breath, frozen in fear.
Will I ever see you again, my dear?

Hiding under the fallen trunk of a tree,
I wonder how this can be.
Hoping the monsters cannot see
The scared woman who is me.

We were held in a pen
Like toys for these evil men.
Told to run fast and if we win
Our misery would finally end.

It’s a game they play
Chasing us down like prey
I chose to run away
Some chose to stay

So tired, running and running all day long.
Knowing they were hunting me, so wrong.
Only thoughts of your love kept me strong.
Now I hear death’s siren song.

So under this fallen tree trunk I hide
Mortally wounded in the side
Into death's darkness I ride
With Archangel Azrael as my guide.

An exceptional poem, one that I find shows true heart, deep message, fine flow and superb rhyming...Bravo!!!!
This poem would be a winner in any contest that did not set specific contest restrictions that demanded it in another poetry form.

Certain would be classed in with the best poems by some of the best poets at the PoetrySoup poetry site, IMHO.. -Tyr

Magical Mountain Made Of Whitest Stone

Majestic mountain made of magic stone
I climbed every night as a lonely child.
Tall and regal, it stood there all alone
symbol of world so fantastic and wild!

Atop its peak in my racing night dreams
looking across earth's fantastic skies.
Resting below, forests and flowing streams
bright, magical realm where nobody dies.

Deep within each night's visionary quest
prayers for family, sleeping nearby.
Young, brave climber daring courageous best
with fantasy and thrills on each climb's try!

Magical mountain made of whitest stone.
Conquered by a child, made of flesh and bone!

(Old) Note: How I long again to be that innocent child from two years ago, living with warmest embrace of my father's love before his death...
Life just suxs and tries to destroy me...

New note: Life again sent its deepest blues, but old age has brought wisdom, those blues and accompanying depths of pain - that--
Can reach out to destroy,
yet only find a stronger heart
For this soul tis no longer an innocent boy
that had no well lit path to now chart.
