He said 'whistleblower' gave him the intel. It was White House. Why do Republicans seem hell bent on self-destruction?

Two White House officials played a role in providing House of Representatives Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes with documents showing President Donald Trump and his associates were swept up in surveillance by U.S. intelligence agencies, the New York Times reported on Thursday.

Citing unnamed U.S. officials, the Times identified the White House officials as "Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council, and Michael Ellis, a lawyer who works on national security issues at the White House Counsel’s Office."

That article was an hour old.

FOX has 'breaking news' that Nunes is going to address the press, soon. (4.5 minutes?)

Well it was Adam Schiff, not Nunes speaking. (Has anyone else thought he looks a lot like a young Richard Nixon?) Basically he's saying that the WH hasn't denied they are the source of 'intel' that Nunes spoke of, not a whistleblower.

Of course, he is even 'more concerned' about the ability of Nunes to look at the investigation in any fair way. Now he wants the full committee to see everything that Nunes saw.

The fact that Sean Spicer claimed yesterday to have 'no idea' where the documents came from that Nunes saw, 'is especially troubling.'

Granted Schiff is making hay out of this, but why would the WH and Nunes leave themselves open to this? If there's 'nothing to see there,' they shouldn't use drama to make claims-as it makes Nunes, Spicer, and Ryan whom also said it was from a 'whistle blower.'

Trump had a chance and he's doing absolutely everything he can do screw up. I thought he was bringing in the best people. Now it's nothing but scandal.

Nobody wants to say it, or admit it. But Shiff, and all of the Dems who are screaming about Nunes so much...won't want him to be honest with them, and actually say..."The reason I told the MSM, and the White House before the Dems in the committee is...."BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST THEM!"

Like I have said before, many of the "leaks" that have the Trump team concerned have came from inside the White House. There are several rogue elements that have been working against Trump from the beginning.
There is also potentially damaging information in the hands of former Trump allies who have either been fired or defected. Hence the mysterious Nunes meeting with Trump where he suddenly jumped out of a cab on his way to a meeting. It believe that was a direct threat from Trump to get with the program or be demoted.

Trump might not have been politically astute enough to realize he was helping the Russians. Or he might have known it and not realized someone would find out.
Either way, Trump aided the Russian effort to influence the 2016 election by embracing Russian disinformation.

Wittingly or not, Trump and his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, embraced and promoted narratives, including false ones, convenient to Russian interests, including a fake story about a terrorist attack on the Turkish airbase at Incirlik used by US forces and baselessly doubting the US citizenships of Barack Obama and Ted Cruz.

“On 11 October, President Trump stood on stage and cited what appears to be a fake news story from [the Russian propaganda outlet] Sputnik News that disappeared from the internet. He denies the intel from the United States about Russia. He claimed that the election could be rigged – that was the number one theme pushed by RT, Sputnik News,” Watts testified.

LongTermGuy. That photo of Shit reminded me of the comparison I made several years ago between Republicans, and Democrats.

PROBLEM WAS...even after seeing the Republican Pile of shit...http://www.reactiongifs.us/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/pile_of_shit.gif

WHEN ASKED to show the Democrat Pile of shit... "There was never ENOUGH shit in the pile".http://icansayit.com/images/dung.jpg

Funny how you didn't mention how SCHIFF no longer has a defensive tactic left to argue about with Nunes bowing out. Oh, and how come you haven't mentioned how QUIET the whiners have become with NOBODY TO POINT AT, or BLAME now?

Recusal doesn't mean he's totally out of the Investigations. SUSAN RICE is making it easier for people like Trey Gowdy, and others to HAMMER out the TRUTH without SCHIFF pointing back at HIMSELF now.

Nunes is a Congressman, not a member of the administration. He doesn't work for Trump, and can't be demoted by Trump.

By the way, I'd like to see the Dem Senators and media members that keep chanting about 'where did Nunes get this information' to give some decent coverage to what the information actually is. Susan Rice, for example, may have been pulling off, or part or, a huge scandal. The media, at least, ought to be following up on that.

Sorry, Democrats, The Obama Spying Scandal Isn’t Going Away

Devin Nunes stepped away from the Russia probe. But he's still investigating the Obama administration's leak campaign against the Trump administration. By Mollie Hemingway
(http://thefederalist.com/author/mzhemingway/)
APRIL 7, 2017

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes on Thursday stepped aside from the probe of Russian actions during the 2016 campaign, saying he needed to deal with a congressional ethics inquiry into claims he improperly disclosed classified information.

Democrats rejoiced at the news. “The White House made a fool of Chairman Nunes, and he has deeply tarnished his credibility as Chairman and the credibility of his Republican colleagues,” declared Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi (https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/850016264001138689). There is no question that this was a blow for the chairman, following his revelation that Obama administration officials had collected information of Trump transition members incidentally, unmasked it, and widely disseminated it. But the victory for Nunes’ critics could be pyrrhic.

...

“The Russia narrative has been a sensational marketing effort, but the investigation won’t live up to the hype,” Michael Sainato writes (http://observer.com/2017/03/democrats-caution-russia-trump-investigation-wont-meet-expectations/). Glenn Greenwald of the Intercept has a good rundown of the problems (https://theintercept.com/2017/03/16/key-democratic-officials-now-warning-base-not-to-expect-evidence-of-trumprussia-collusion/) caused by Democrats hyping Russian conspiracy theories.

Now, perhaps there will be something that comes out that changes everything, but after the better part of a year involving claims that the end was near for Donald Trump, people seem to have a general idea of Russia’s efforts that’s gone unchanged.

Nunes not having to deal with that part of his duties frees up time to focus on an area of investigation that has proved fruitful: the Obama administration’s leaking against the Trump administration.

...

I'm glad if this all has led to uncovering the mess and meanness of the Obama administration and abuses of power.
