Generation PutinWhat to Expect From Russia’s Future LeadersBy Sarah E. Mendelson (https://www.foreignaffairs.com/authors/sarah-e-mendelson)

"...My colleagues and I wanted to know whether the trappings of Putin-era prosperity—cell phones, easy access to the Internet, foreign travel—had inspired these people to adopt more liberal values and a more international outlook than their parents held. The answer was no. Russian millennials wished to see their country restored as a hypersovereign power that would stand outside the Euro-Atlantic community and resist international legal norms. Most of them believed that Putin had set the country on the right path. They enthusiastically consumed the Kremlin’s steady diet of Soviet nostalgia, xenophobia, homophobia, and anti-Americanism. And the more educated they were, the more likely they were to hold anti-American views. ..."

Why the anti-American-ism? Or as some here might say it, Americanphobia? What specifically have we done that makes your millennials hate us? I would sincerely like to hear the one or two biggest reasons.

Seems to me that the protests they had in Russia regarding anti-corruption included more than the elderly. LOL! Ah, it's almost like Balu is playing at being a propagandist and feeding into the 'distrust' he's picked up on regarding the youth in this country.

He's never worked outside of government:

Former Kremlin banker: Putin 'is the richest person in the world until he leaves power'

...

Although Putin's exact wealth is unclear, hedge fund manager Bill Browder previously estimated (http://www.businessinsider.com/russias-former-largest-foreign-investor-putin-is-worth-200-billion-2015-2) it at $200 billion during an interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria (http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2015/02/15/putins-net-worth-is-200-billion-says-russias-once-largest-foreigner-investor/).

(As a reference point, that would make Putin 2.5 times as rich as Bill Gates, who is considerd to be the world's richest man.)

"After 14 years in power of Russia, and the amount of money that the country has made, and the amount of money that hasn't been spent on schools and roads and hospitals and so on — all that money is in property, Swiss bank accounts, shares, [and] hedge funds managed for Putin and his cronies."

The "first eight or 10 years about reign over Russia was about stealing as much money that he could," Browder added.

Pugachev said Putin's immense wealth is not an accident.

"Putin wanted get rich, too. He was a pragmatic person," he added (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jul/28/sergei-pugachev-putins-banker-interview-lives-in-fear?CMP=share_btn_tw). "We talked about this. He didn’t want to leave office poor."

Above is the first stage the USA organized. Below are the second and the third stages which the USA expect and invest money into. But Russia IS NOT the Ukraine - Artificially created, nonviable, pseudo-state parody. So, as to Russia there you'll have NO chance. For you it will be waste of money and monkey business.

It's fun how you do not like to answer in any specifics, yet toss allegations here and there. When anyone disagrees with what you purport, you try to demand they find all sorts of specifics, that you later denigrate.

You are a fine, little propagandist my little commie buddy. :laugh2:

It is a long story based on our History and historical experience. The only thing I can tell you - you had an excellent chance in the very beginning of 90s when Russians believed and trusted you. But you've lost that chance forever. I tell it to you as Russian with a lot of experience under my belt.

Thank you for your answer. I am old enough to know about the Cold War, etc. But youth today did not live through it, and tend to only care about what affects them. Can you please give just 1 or 2 specifics why Russian millennials would hate us?

I know I'd be pissed if I knew that my President stole billions from my country.

Really pissed.

Not very truthful. Russian has been clamping down on internet access, gradually blocking more sites. They also have the capability to monitor all cell phone calls. In addition, mass gatherings are strictly controlled and organizers often are arrested or just disappear. Putin is becoming more dictatorial by the day.
