...The prospect of Russia (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/russia/) rejoining the G7 group of the world’s leading industrialised nations will be used as part of a carrot and stick approach to persuade President Vladimir Putin (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/vladimir-putin/) to pull out of Syria (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/syria/), The Daily Telegraph understands.
Rex Tillerson (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/rex-tillerson/), the US Secretary of State, will fly to Moscow later this week with an ultimatum from the G7 demanding that Putin withdraws his armed forces and ends his support for President Bashar al-Assad (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/bashar-al-assad/). Threats of new sanctions against Russia could be made if he does not comply. ...
Americans failed to understand what had already been said to them for several times - Russia IS NOT INTERESTED in rejoining G7! Russia is completely satisfied with format G-20.

Vlad is shallow, and desperately craves respect for himself and Russia, by whatever warped standard he perceives it.
But he seeks acceptance from a to some degree civilized Western world, but continues to act the knuckle-dragging barbarian. Pathetic.
National Security Advisor McMaster nailed it on FNS yesterday. Why is Putin backing a monster like Assad? We know the answer; for Russian access to Mediterranean ports. Is it worth the price? Backing a monster like Assad that uses chemical agent on children?
Kremlin says no meeting with Tillerson in Putin’s schedule

Peskov has reminded that Tillerson is coming to Russia for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov
MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. There is no meeting with US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, during his visit to Moscow on April 12 in the schedule of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday, adding that such contacts are not announced in advance.

US Secretary of State to visit Russia on April 11-12 (http://tass.com/politics/939566)
"We have not announced any meetings, and so far, there is no meeting with Tillerson in the president’s schedule," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked whether Putin plans to receive the US secretary of state. Peskov recalled that Tillerson is coming to Russia for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "If this meeting [with Tillerson] appears [in Putin’s schedule], we will inform you accordingly," he emphasized.
"We never announce such meetings. Whether it will take place or not, we do not announce this," the Kremlin spokesman noted. "I don’t understand what you mean," Peskov said in response to an assumption that Putin’s likely refusal to meet with Tillerson could be seen as a signal for Washington. "Go on discussing it," he told a reporter who said that the issue was discussed extensively.
Earlier reports said that Tillerson will pay a working visit to Moscow on April 11-12 and hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. That will be Tillerson’s first visit to Moscow in his new capacity of the US top diplomat.
The US secretary of state’s visit to Moscow will take place against the backdrop of the situation related to the US missile strike against a Syrian airbase overnight on April 7. Moscow described this move as an act of aggression under a far-fetched pretext.

Who cares?
That was my thought. It seems that the message has already been delivered. So far it appears that Putin has decided to throw in with Iran and Syria, to create a 'Superpower' to balance the US. Hey, with those two they also pick up Hezbollah and Hamas, yet there are those claiming that it's the US choosing the terrorists. Ok then.

I hate quotes but that was a "Go ahead, make my day" moment. We got a green light. All we need is that green light. No one can match up with us.

True. Speaking about the message delivered (the suspension of memorandum with Washington on mutual understanding and preventing aerial incidents).
Let us assume - the American fighter with missiles/bombs under it wings is shot down in air space over the territory of the sovereign State Syria within its territorial borders, recognized by the UN. What will be the reaction? The point is that appearance of ANY military (the civil too) aircraft in the airspace over the territory of ANY country without a permission or request of the government of this country is ILLEGAL by definition. Are you ready to collect the coffins with the corpses of your pilots as in Vietnam? Do you miss that? http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/dirol.gif

Afghanistan.
Afghanistan.
I see. Over 2,000 killed and over 11,000 wounded Americans (data for 2012) is not enough for you. You are eager to increase the number of American widows and orphans?
But, nevertheless you have not answer my question. Why?

Very remarkable picture.

In 2008 President Sarkozy invited Assad to become a member of the E U`s Mediterranean Union and today Western leaders describe Assad as “evil” .
Why? Chronology:
-2009 Assad rejected pipeline to pass via Syria
http://cont.ws/uploads/pic/2015/10/1444067099_1%20%281%29.jpg
- The open conflict in Syria began on March 15, 2011, when opposition activists organized across Syria "Day of Wrath", the reason for which was the detention of teenagers who wrote a protest slogan on the wall of one of the houses of the city. Over the following days, the situation developed rapidly - the insurgency was suppressed by the troops, protests spread throughout the country.

Bbbbut, I though Tillerson and Putin were great buddies?
Forget!
I remind you the words of Prime Minister of Great Britain, Lord Henry Temple, 3rd Viscount of Palmerston - "Britain has no eternal friends or enemies; but permanent interests". (1856) and Tsar Alexander III - "All over the world, we have only two loyal ally - our Army and Navy. All the rest, at the first opportunity will fight against us." (1845—1894)
So...
One of the comments from our forums indicating attitude of Russians to your proposals and "values".
- "Well, they are trying to exchange Assad for glass beads ...
Something is wrong with their brains and memory".
Hope it may be useful and interesting for you as your majority is unable to read anything yourself in original other then English.

OK!
Try if you can. But mind that the computer translating can rather mislead than help you to understand.
But there is a chance for you - many speak English so there may not be language barrier but on these forums there are not only Russians, but our domestic Liberals and emigrants, from former USSR and Ukrainians. So you won't be able to distinguish one from the other.

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, has downplayed the ongoing rhetoric about the possible return to the G8 format of international negotiations.

Kremlin says Russia has no plans to get back to G8 (http://tass.com/politics/924897)
In an interview with Russia’s Vesti FM radio, Maria Zakharova said the issue of resuming talks in the G8 format was voiced only by representatives "of the opposite side" and described it as "some kind of cheap speculations."
"If they [G7 members] make any decision [on G8 format revival] - then it will be considered [by Moscow]. If not, then why talking about it? Their words are not followed by any kind of actions," the spokeswoman said.
The G8 format of negotiations was created in 1997, when Russia joined the Group of Seven industrialized nations [G7] - the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, the US, France and Japan.
Moscow discontinued its participation in the meetings that bring together the leaders of the world’s leading powers due to tensions in relations with the West over the Ukrainian crisis and Crimea’s reunification with Russia.
On May 26-27, the Italian city of Taormina will host the G7 summit. During his speech at the Atlantic Council last month, Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano expressed hope that the upcoming meeting in Italy will be "the last G7 summit" followed by the revival of the G8 format.
