The slide began last week and completely closed the highway for a week.
CALTrans worked around to clock to open it for one-way traffic, then this happened
Two days ago. From the Lost Coast Outpost.

Completely closed again. Luckily, no lives were lost. The workers in the video are safety spotters.
The horn heard in the background was a "Retreat" signal to get the hell out of there.

Being the flat lander girl originally, this whole rock slide thing is something else. I've learned not to go through Oak Creek when it's raining, good way to get some big dents in the car. The 'flash floods' here are something to behold, 'flash floods' for the most part in the flatlands means that rivers have overtaken the banks, look out low ground! Here? Suddenly you are in white water rapids!
