All the ammonia gone and the big guy survived. He's still stressed and didn't want to eat. But then I started spoiling him with some frozen shrimp and frozen worms. Now we're good friends again! :)

Here's a picture, but I'm also attaching a 10 second video for Kathianne - as watching him never ever blink and just breathe is so very relaxing and would never give anyone nightmares! :)

Notice his teethies! He's a tough bastard, very aggressive.

Yeah, probably. :(

He's about 5 inches or so now. So you would likely be fishing for something kinda big at least!

Truly a jerk thing to do, I'll probably have said nightmare tonight. ;)

Since it never came up, I've never mentioned having an equally weird fright of birds. Oh they are pretty enough soaring through the sky, but up close? Creepy.

So just my luck last Saturday when I went to Montezuma's Castle, I packed a bit of lunch to enjoy at a picnic table. Guess who decided to join me? Who wouldn't leave even when I screamed?

That's a beautiful bird!!

Diana also has a fear of birds, and now just hates them. So I'm not allowed to get one of those as a pet either. :( I always wanted a big parrot, or a mccaw!

I'm with Diana, they are creepy. I was sitting at the table, munching on an apple and reading a book. Shocking as it may sound, I tend to be very focused. All the sudden my peripheral vision notices movement, nearly under my nose. The bird! I screamed, he just hopped about the table. Finally he flew off. Sat down, breathing heavily. Go back and am reading, enjoying some cheese, he's back! Bouncing around, even though I'm quietly yelling, "Scat!" and shaking my car keys. No way, it's on his schedule. Flies off, no more reading. Finish my water and he comes back, singing and going for my wet wipes! I got out of there!

There are mean birds, weird birds and cool birds. I'd love to get a really smart crow! They can be super friendly and smart. What I'd really like is a mccaw though! Something like this colorful sucker would be great, but the cost for one is gonna be $$$

And I can see from the title of the video that it's "Macaw"?. I'm such a bad spelling jerk. :(

Found one of Kathi's childhood pics... this explains everything. Well, except the fish thing.

Okay, that was the last one tormenting Kathi. I know, I'm a dick. ;)

Wait, you're in the land of scorpions, but you're afraid of birds and fish?

Scorpions are hiders, they don't want to bother with me. I do check my shoes thoroughly though before donning. Now speaking of the excursion where I unwilling met the bird, there was this sign posted:

When it comes to rattlesnakes, I am freaky for the simple reason that even with hearing aids, I can't be sure I'd hear it. So, I'm vigilant.
